hi. im planning to buy a mic, i havent decided yet, im thinking in a studio projects c1, or the at3035, or the rode nt1, or something in that rice range. in the city i live in i havent find them. so i´m traveling to houston but i dont know where can i buy i there, so my question is: do you know stores that sell them, in houston? i need the name and the address. any help would be appreciated. and also..., any reccomendations, or suggestion of wich is better would be appreciated. im gonna use it for vocals....
thanks

Swap,
Email alanhyatt, and ask him where you can get a C1. I know he's posted his email addy in a few threads, just search his username or "Studio Projects" and you'll find him.

ps - In the future, try to put a little more info in your subject, like: "Can I get a C1 in Houston?" or "Need Recommendations for Mic Dealers in Houston"

swap, check out www.studioprojectsusa. com for a list of dealers.
I owned a NT1 and sold it, then took the $ and bought a C1.
It's better by far for vocals. While the AT3035 is probably a good
sounding mike, it's unlikely it's in the same league as the C1.
Also the Audio-Technica is more sensitive to background noise,
therefore the C1 will be easier to record with. There are also
some reviews at this website to look at.

Wow, this is a five star thread... the information I've gleaned from this post is huge, I may never look at recording the same way again... thank you, thank you all...

HAHA, I just noticed that Harveys polar response thread got four stars... lol... someones smoking crack....

Don't bother looking for a C1 in either the Guitar Center or Mars. Alan (of PMI Audio and Studio Projects) seems to be avoiding "the big stores" like the plague.

-was wondering about those stars, too:rolleyes:

LOL, I noticed that too. I guess everybody's learned everything about mics that they need to know. That saves me the trouble of finishing up the drum miking and what "specs" really mean.

Harvey,
Please continue your posts. I continue to learn here, and the more I learn, the more I realize just how much there is that I still have yet to learn.

- I tried to knock it down to even less stars, but I can only vote once.

Sure, how else would those threads get them stars?

Queue don't worry, I'll knock it down another notch just for you. :D
