Sluice-

Im glad your monitors like the mix :) I sampled the song on a couple systems and it had a little distortion on the bass end. Probably because Im using a analog bass sound that goes really low. Might have to cut some frequencies down there.

Thats a great complement- Id love to play for the weather channel :) I think I'll leave the drums- then... hehe

Thanks for taking the time

I think the musicians in Glorica Estefan's band are awsome.... I have a few of her Cd's and I think her fellow musicians write some awsome music. Yes, this is a big departure from fast electric guitar playing :) As for the little flamenco flavor, I just starting picking staccato at that point and thought.. hey that sounds neat! :) I went back and listened for string squeaks and low and behold they were there, I guess those Elixirs dont work :) Thanks Chad

6 stars from you seems out of the norm. Did your dog do a jump and hit you in the head :D hehe Man... ive been working really hard to get the mixes sounding good... I guess being persistant pays off. I think you mentioned before that its important to really know your equiptment.... I couldnt agree more with that. I keep writing part of a sound then another idea comes in my head and I have to start another song.... I have 100 ideas and I cant keep up with them... im gonna need a brain secretary. :) Thanks for your help mix!

mcmd

Im glad you finally got the tune downloaded. I hope your still playing her today :) Thanks again!

boydrj-

Great to hear you liked! I'll keep up the good work... promise :)

CyanJaguar-

Man... I dont know how to say as much as you did in just one word. :) THEANK_YEOOOOO!

Guernica-

hehe... Victory :) Thanks funny! Im just getting started....

Man.. thats crazy you mentioned fretless bass.... Ive been looking to buy one. All the fretless patches that I have dont sound like "real" fretless basses. I love the sound of 'em though. Its gotta be a chore micin' them up.. I bet. I have heard Ottmar before. I think their stuff if excellent... I havent played that cd in about a year I think I will listen to that tonight. Thanks for reminding me. :) I dont have the live album.. but I'll look into that.

Thanks for the engouraging words... FYI... still banging out amaiga tune :)

Take care

erichenryus-

Thank You!
The mics are Octava MC012 condensers. They can be had from Guitar Center for about $99 apiece, but I got a matched stereo set from the sound room. You pay twice the price but you get a nice cedar box and they are gurenteed to work. I can assure you that alot of the tone from the music is coming from my fingers. Im using a Takamine electric acoustic .. they are around $700 used. Im looking into a nylon though.

Buffalo Bob-

Yes... this would be nice for driving in the car. :) Now If I only lived in Miami Beach! Thanks!

twist-

Hey thanks twist! Im really glad you like to listen to the tunes. I'll try to keep pumpin' em' out :)

muzeman-

As always... thanks for the generous words! I really appreciate it! Thank you

Best to you too

Fingerlinkin

Thanks for the reply... 80's  Yikkkes :)

Man, I just noticed we have a very similar setup. I too use a Korg Triton and Delta. But I'm still using Shure mics, and not recording them in stereo. I use the Korg for it's GM drum samples. I also have been using it as a sort of mic preamp without any effects applied for vocals into the Delta- Omni I/O.

You're getting very nice sounds my friend. Keep 'em coming!

Sluice--- on the same page as our similar setup... I was looking at your avator and ever since I had my first Kirmit the frog doll. ive been an avid fan of frogs. Ironic?

If I were you.. Id get at least a mackie preamp and a condenser mic. Thats what Im using ... and it sounds nice.

Thanks J,
I think I'll be making the puchase in a couple weeks. I can't take it anymore!

Now do Iron Man!!

Absolutely great, If I could get my acoustic to sound that good, well I can't.

That was pretty!!!

This could be the best thing I've heard from the homereckers on this board. It certainly is among the best. Everything was tasty, recorded well, well mixed, well played, etc. etc.

The only criticism I'll offer (and I probably shouldn't cause this is good stuff and I am not worthy), but I wanted more of a build as the song progressed. By this I mean the introduction of more instrumentation. I did hear some soft midi strings later in the song, but I'm thinking maybe another solo insturment, like a flute. Maybe some two part harmony lines with the guitar. And just maybe a little more stings with some dominant lines.

Anyway, just some ramblings. It is excellent as is.

Took me away, brought me back...perfect trip.

But...after listening I wondered how it would sound without drumkit, just bass and guitars. Probably a crazy idea, but the composition and playing are of such quality, it just had me thinking bass and guitars would stand fine on their own. Or maybe just shakers, sticks, djimbi etc...
But then again, why change something so beautiful and most excellent...

very nice man!!!

it sounds perfect. everything is clean and in time and AWESOME

keep it up.

Let me know how everything goes when you get your goodies. Im anxious 4 ya :)

Flash-

Thanks for listening ;)

GT-

:) Im sure you'll get your acoustic to sound great... keep messin' with it. You should hear when I first recorded my acoustic  the dog would run outside.

dachay2tnr-

Those are really nice comments from you. I think your right about more instrumentation..... If I were to spend a little more time on the song it would develop further. I kinda want to add some stuff... but im working on another tune now, so maybe eventually it can be tweaked. Thanks for listening :)

Iron man? Magic bus? Are you guys talking about a body building competiton that involves Shaggy from scobby do?

mkg-

All of your ideas are great ideas! Now if I only had some extra time :) Thanks for your thoughts!

Peace to you too Balshazza and thanks for givin' a listen!

Take care all and thanks for the feedback!

This is one beautiful song. As for the mixing and stuff, I'm really a beginner, so to me it sounds flawless.

Feeling very mellow now,
Denis

If I may be so bold...

This board is great...I've just recently stumbled across it, and I think it has the potential to be very helpful (or hurtful, I guess...)...I'm trying to avoid the latter, but "If I may be so bold," I'm getting some low end clips on my monitors. For example, the very first bass note. I don't think it's my monitors; DON'T REMIX IT, I think it sounds great...but if you're hearing the same thing, just EQ it on those problem spots...'prolly between 220Hz (a frequent offender) and 350Hz. Not a lot...and not throughout...just on those distorted points.

Impressive stuff.

Hey thanks alot guys!

I took out some of that bass distortion and added some extra bells and whistles.

I hope you like! :)

I'm a little late getting to this one. It certainly would have been my lose if I missed it.

Just wanted to chime in and say I enjoy your playing. Recording exceeds my comments.

Thanks for the listen.

peace,

Theron.
