Hooking the sound card into the mixer

Ok i bought the m-audio audiophile 2496 card. Im thinking about buying this mic preamp/mixer

Not sure how to hook it up to the sound card. The audiophile comes with a cord that has S/PDIF I/O and MIDI I/O provide connectivity and Analog I/O is available on RCA jacks. So that is the cord that hooks into the mixer?

Main Out L-R 1/4" to RCA L-R in on audiophile.
The mixer is not digital therefore you wont use the spdif connects.

The mixer suspose to come with a cord? I use the cord the audiophile comes with.

I dont see where the mixer comes with any cord. And the audiophile will only come with a jumper for spdif and midi. You will have to purchase a cable that has 1/4" on one end and RCA on the other. Not too expensive... depending on the brand.

could you give me a name of one so I could go search , also shouldnt it have 2 1/4 and 2 rca hence 1 for left and 1 for right thanks

This is a single. If you look around you can find a stereo pair.
You can get em at guitar center or any major music store.

I have another question.. to install the audiophile i have to disable onboard audio then install the card. What Do I plug my studio monitors into if I dont have a mixer right now. The audiophile? if so where

The analog RCA L-R out of the audiophile.
What are your monitors input connection type ?

In that case, you could use the RCA outs to the monitors but the spdif outs would probably be better then you wouldn't need the converters.

The spdif connects are RCA-RCA
Digital coax cable is needed
This is a cheaper brand...I prefer Monster brand

Correct...you can use analog RCA-RCA or spdif RCA-RCA
