File's up!!!

In the Yahoo Briefcase, BPOM With Bass in two parts. Join them together using the splitter tool.

Anyone who asks any of the following questions:

What is the Yahoo Briefcase?
How Do I Get Into the Yahoo Briefcase?
What is a Splitter Tool?
Why Is It an .001 file and not an .mp3 file?

will get a visit from my uncle, Tony Two Toes.

Frank - there *might* be a 10 meg limit on my mail account, but anything less than that should be fine. However, maybe you might want to post them in the Yahoo Briefcase? We seem to be having a spot of trouble with these e-mail exchanges. I went through a similar thing with Pedulist on Friday. I could download them from there, and then delete the files once they're downloaded to free up the space again.

Post No 900

I just had to make Post No 900 in the World famous Hey Moskus thread!

I've just ordered HomeStudio 2004XL. I hope that SoundFont player Dyad DXi is worth it! :)

Looking forward to laying down some cool grooves and getting right in to Punch-In recording...

[Edit] Drat! Beaten by Dachay2tnr & his uncle Tony Two-Toes...

Oh well...

I split the file into three and re-sent it to your work address Mike. Let me know if that gets through. If not, I'll do the BriefCase thing...

Frank - nothing yet (it's about 1:00 PM EST). Did you get the PM I sent. Are you sending it to the right address? I don't understand what the problem might be.

BTW, the file I put up with Ped's bass, also has some pieces of the tracks you sent me last week.

--------------------

I'm still at a crossroads as to what's up next.

Is moskus doing the lead guitar part?
Who's doing the horns? (Where's Chuck??)
Is Clemmie still with us for the piano?
James doing any keyboard?
Are we leaving the midi elec piano that is currently in the track?

Me and my boys will do the BGV's. We've actually started working on learning them, but since we only get together at most once a week, it will probably be another week or two before we have them down.

If nobody else volunteers, I'll string up the axe.

We've been at this for weeks now, and I don't see anyone else volunteering. :D

Earth calling Clemie, come on Clemie...

...sssssshhhhh..... sssshhhh.... (sound of pink noises...)

I repeat... earth calling Clemie, come on Clemie...

...sssssshhhhh..... sssshhhh.... (sound of pink noises...)

Hmmm... A week ago, said she would send me the MIDI files, but I haven't recieved yet so far...
But anyway, Dachay, since I had took my part on the drums sequencing, I'm gonna wait until at least I heard the piano and guitar parts filled into the project first. I have sequenced couple version of analog synth and organ (note: my own version! :D ), But I'm affraid I will dominate the project with my stuff... (which I'm not intend to). I think the idea is to give every participant their own space and part. I'll leave all spaces for piano, guitars, etc. first. Then if there's still room available, then I'll go with the synth etc. for making it up only if necessary. Let's take it easy, my man... :) It takes a man like you to make a history :)

I e-mailed the files to the cakewalkers project at Yahoo e-mail address.

Dachay
If you want to have a look they should be there...

Blue,
If you have problems sending them, send them to cakewalkersproject@yahoo.com.au . dachay2tnr, once Blue's sent the file, log into to the briefcase then go to mail... you can either retrieve them from there or copy them straight to the briefcase :D

Just if that helps,

Porter
OK, I may be stupid, but I've been all over the briefcase and I don't see any "mail" link/button/section/file or whatever. So how do I get to the mail to retrieve BluesMeister's files?

< big sigh >

OK, I finally got there.

I managed to get into the mail section by clicking on "address book" at the bottom of the briefcase page.

Now I see in that same area, a link for "mail." Boy, they sure took pains to hide it. :D

I transferred Frank's files to the briefcase so I could download them, which I am doing as we speak.

In the meantime, there is a message that we are over our quota in the mailbox. Anyone have any problems if I delete those files from the mailbox? We should be OK with the copies in the briefcase, no?

dachay2tnr,

As long as your have a copy of the files in the inbox, Go For It!!!

I was just trying to work out ways that least impact everyone :D

I should update the info on the web page shouldn't I?

It took me quite a bit of searching before I spotted the Mail link in tiny, tiny print at the bottom of the Yahoo screen.

Yes, they sure did a good job of making it difficult to find. Onya boys!

By all means delete the files once you've transferred and downloaded them.

Gosh, at this rate we'll have the song finished and out there before the year's out...

Yeah... I can see it as half full ;) but mind you I'm on the same side of the world as Blue :D

FYI.... I deleted the attachments out of the Inbox as they are already in the briefcase :D

Porter
Yeah, I moved them to the briefcase 'cause I couldn't figure out how to download them directly from the mailbox. We probably don't even need them in the briefcase either anymore - unless someone is mixing along with me. :D

Hey, there's an idea. Ultimately we could have a "mix-off" using all of these tracks!! :p :p

Bluesman - just to confirm, I got a stereo track, but it looks to me like the left and the right are the same thing. I assuming this was meant as just a single mono guitar track and the mp3 conversion created a stereo file from it. It that's the case, I'll convert it back to mono for use in the project. If not, I'll split it to two separate mono tracks.

Dacahy
That latest rhythm track was actually recorded as separate L&R mono tracks. The arpeggioed chords are on the R track and general rhythm mayhem on the L track.

There are occasional "double-tracked" arpeggios where I've strummed Ebmaj7 on both tracks.

I don't suppose it matters if the track is split into two monos or mixed down to a single mono track. It's in your hands Mike.

The conversion to MP3 was done by the rapidly-timing out bundled conversion utility. I guess "quirky" would be an adequate description of it. :)

I will be trying out the MP3 conversion proggy that Moskus pointed to in another thread.

So now it's down to you keyboard thumpers...
