I know, I'm disappointed too... :(

Go for James' sollution for now! :)

James, why do you live in a place that totally screws up the table-setting for the BBS???

I know it's gonna work. I've tried transfering files to BluesMeister and Pedullist long time ago this way. All is well. All you need to do is being patience for dealing with rather large files. Split them into pieces, and upload them one by one. You may even use ftp tools. If it works like we think, then we can transfer wave files (I mean .wav !!! who needs .mp3 ? :D ) to be mixed by "the engineer" (dachay?)...

Hellloooowww...

Well, next up in the queue is the bass part. So far I've heard the 3 P's mentioned for this (Paul, Porter, & Pedulist). So who is gonna step forward and take ownership here?

BTW, I logged onto the site last week. I didn't do anything but look around. Do you want me to post anything there? I posted the most recent mix on the Yahoo site that Porter set up.

BTW2, 1 meg transfers is bit of a PIA. (Although I will admit your cut/splice tool is kinda easy to use, James.)

Sorry I have but haven't been around.

A couple of things...

Firstly, I've been busy working on my Misses site (check it out) giving it a new look/building a couple of new pages/adding to the database I've got up there, doing letter box drops and tonight starting to edit a Video Clip for a band. I will get there.. unless Peedy can do it??? If he can't I will.

Secondly (Jaymz, I hope you don't mind), I've been looking at hosting alternatives and have found a solution, the down side it is takes a week or so to be approved/set up. Once it is set up, we have 100Mb of space / free, ad-less hosting / FTP capibilities / browser upload / 2GB traffice a month. If/once it is set up, I'll transfer the web page over to there and set up the infrastructure for uploading etc. I'll keep you up to date.

My Friend
Jagular,
I was pleased to see your most excellent song the gift" on the hrcomp cd Easily the best in its genre:):)

too bad they put some of that TRASH on the same CD. I would have liked to share it with the more distant family members but not with that vulgar stuff included. I did play that song and all that have heard it said.
Wow!! Now that guy can really sing!!
But youve heard that before.

maybe in a few weeks I will find some time to get back into this cakewalk project but for now Im still buried in work.

Peace
Bill

Hey Bill - thanks a lot again. I had to snicker a bit. Especially at the first song on the red cd. Hey...I guess I'm long past being shocked and everyone has their own way of expressing themselves I suppose. I may not care for it, but, ya...some of that stuff most certainly doesn't get played in front of a lot of family (especially my 3 year old).

Thanks again man. I actually want to retrack that and make the vocal stronger. I did that before I really figured out how to record my voice (actually still figuring it out, but getting better at it). :D

'lo everyone from Wisconsin. Dial up connection and all :D. Visiting family, took my daughter fishing today. Life is good ('cept the dent I put in our brand new, 3 week old Honda Odyssey :( - fargin' low post I couldn't see and backed into) But still a good vacation none the less. :)

Got my CD's this morning !!!

Phew, What a tallent you showed us, Jagular !!! Gift is the one that catches my intention first time !!! Very good song and voice !!! The $20 + shipping worth your song alone :)

Right, although I like most of those songs, it's true that arranging the CD's song order would make it better to hear. I had my wifey open the package and listen to it first time... "You're on the red CD, honey..." Go ahead play it... (it's played)... and hhhmmmm.... anyway, I'm enjoying the whole CD's as a result of what I believe to be hard work to express their own. History continued... :)

John, I sense Crawdad all over the instrumental tracks on The Gift. Correct? It's first rate - along with your singing. Sounds very professional.

James, your track was quite good as well. I thought the violin was a little bit loud compared to the backing tracks, but the melody was beautiful and the playing was top notch.

Hey guys...I have no idea which song I'm supposed to play bass on...

This thread is unreadable, LOL :D

Oh man, do we have to go through this all over again? :D

If you're volunteering, Ped, the song is Biggest Part of Me by Ambrosia.

There is a copy of both the original version of the song and also a scratch track, that have been posted on a Yahoo account that Porter set up. Here’s the URL: http://briefcase.yahoo.com/cakewalkersproject

Now here’s where it gets difficult.

You’ll need a username and password to get into the Yahoo briefcase. If you want to play, I can PM the username and password to you. Also, the scratch track (BPOM with Drums – Part One) has been split into two separate files, since the Yahoo account only allows for 3 meg uploads max. After downloading them, you would need to rejoin them using a utility tool that can also be found at this same web site (Jsplit Utility).

Also, the scratch track currently has a midi bass line on it. I assume you would want that removed in order to make it easier to play along with? If so, let me know, and I can do a remix without the bass and e-mail it to you, or upload to the same site.

Right now the scratch track has an electric piano and bass, drums (programmed by James), and a scratch lead vocal by Jagular.

I told you this gets hard. :D

BTW, anyone else want to be in charge here? :D :D

I've got a Yahoo account (Pedullist) but I don't see any files?

Aaaah, looks like we got propher bass & solo guitar players here :)

Cum on guys, bring on the axes !!!! :D :D :D
