Hello

I am recording with Samplitude and can record individual tracks just fine. The problem that I am running into is that when I try to record a track while monitoring a previously recorded track I get a ghostly bleed over into the new one. It's driving me nuts can anyone help me out?

here is what I am using:
Samplitude
A Peavey Powered Amp (with the rec in going into the out of the sound card and the rec out going into the in of the sound card)
A riptide sound card with 1 in and 1 out
A HP pavilion 128 megs of ram.

what am I missing here? is it just a sound card problem?

It isn't Samplitude. It has to be cross talk in the mixer.

Definitely the mixer. Why are you using those inputs and outputs?

you shouldn't be sending your soundcard out to your mixer, only to your headphones/monitors. By going out of your soundcard to your mixer not only are you creating a loop but you are giving that chance for crosstalk and bleeding.
