Hi all,
Currently I'm using M-audio studiophile AV40s in my home recording studio, I've acoustically treated my room to the best I can, its a pretty small room, I was wondering if people think the av40s are decent enough or if there are better monitors I could get at a reasonable price, Are the av40s even near field monitors, I've searched the net for reviews and specs but it doesnt say if they are.
Also I was looking at krk rockets but my local music shop sells them as singles for 199 euro, do you need 2 monitors? I'd prfare to have 2.
Any help for me deciding on monitors would be great, I've treated my room so now I want to get the best monitoring set up I can at a reason able price.

Go to music minds on liffey street you'll get a great deal on monitors there, I bought my HS80's for a steal, and they guys in there are friendly as hell compared to other shops in town, they'll tell you and sell you only what you need, otherwise try thomann.de for some good deals on monitors, and yes you'll need two if you wanna mix in stereo they're sold as singles incase you want like a 5.1 mixing setup
