Hello all!

I have a TERRATEC EWS88MT and I never had any problems when I was working with my PIII @ 1 GHz.

A few days ago I decided to upgrade my computer so I bought a AMD XP 2400+ and a ASROCK K7VM2 motherboard [VIA KM266 chipset].

Now with my new computer I cant even play 4 wavs [without effects] on cubase without having pops, clicks and the sound getting glitches and the sound getting delayed.

I thought it could be an IRQ conflict but was causing such a problem but I have only one IRQ assigned to the soundcard.

I am getting despaired with all this and Im starting to think on buying a new motherbaord.

Comments on how to solve this ? Any help is appreciated.

Thanks in advance...

What is your OS ? It could be the driver. I've heard alot of good things about this card. Never heard any issue before. Have you tried move the card to another empty PCI slot ? :)

ps. welcome to the best BBS in the world ever :)

If you want to avoid compatibility problems your safest option is to stick with an Intel CPU with an Intel chipset motherboard. That probably doesnt help you much unless you can return your computer. Others are able to give you lots of advice with tweaks and tips that will hopefully solve your problems. Good luck.

Hi!

Im using Windows XP PRO. EWS88MT is a very nice soundcard and the currently price is very affordable, around $300.

I want to keep the AMD 2400 processor I have bought. If I cannot make this work correctly I will probably have to buy a soundcard that does not has a VIA chipset.

This bbs looks awesome !

I have already been there and the terratec tech said my problem could be an shared interrupt...

I have just decided to get a new board without a VIA chipset
Hope this will solve the problem.
