Help needed Teac Tascam 144

Hi !

I just picked up a Teac Tascam 144 - seems to be working OK however the tape pitch means to be going way too fast even at its slowest level. Any advice. I'm a total newbie so it could be something way obvious.

Hello?

The Tascam 144 is a 2x Speed recorder, so commercial tapes will not sound right. They'll run too fast. The test of the 144 is to record a segment on the 144 and play it back. Judge pitch by record/playback on the 144.
