Hey guys how's it going? My name is Sam and this is my first post to the site. I'm relatively new to the field but I'm loving every single second of the time I spend learning and recording. I thought I'd share a track with you all.

This is my first legit recording. It's a group called Fools Errand with their very first song 50 Miles. There's a cool story behind both the song and the recording, I'd love to share if anyone is interested.

I would really like some feedback from a recording community like this one because so far it's just been friends and family commenting on my stuff.

Enjoy, and I can't wait to post more here in the future.

Sam

Hey Sam, welcome dude.

I like the harmonies on the chorus, but to be honest the recording and song itself sounds a little thin. I couldn't hear a bass of any kind, but if you're going for the acoustic jam thing, you pulled it off. I like the contrast with the cursing and the nice sounding melodies.

At 2:41 there's a guitar lick that is turned up way too loud.

Other than those suggestions man I enjoyed it. Nice start and welcome again.

Welcome to the site, Sam.
I'm listening on phones right now, the voices sound a bit distorted when the harmonies come in, thats probably because you've got them all panned dead centre. The whole thing actually sounds very mono. I would record a second rythm guitar and pan them left and right. The harmonies you could double and pan L and R too. It would give the mix some depth. The lead guitar is a bit loud in places. Nice tune and good voice. :)
