I would have to disagree with everyone here. The headphone jack would be okay to use if you just want to monitor the overall mix just as you would through the speakers. If you are wanting to allow the musican to monitor through headphones while recording you'll want to use the outputs on one of the 8 channel outs. The reason for this is because you'll want to hear it prefader so when adjusting any levels or whatnot you won't blast the musicians ears. Besides, the 828mk11 has the CueMix DSP mixer on it (which I think is a cool little feature) and it lets you monitor to any four output pairs that you want. You can find some inexpensive cueamps pretty easily. But of course, it all depends on how you plan on recording. You might find using the headphones out is easiest. Although, if what crankz1 says is right and you can turn the headphone jack into another output, then i guess just use that. I haven't had much experience with the 828 though....so you may wish to ignore all that I just wrote. Good luck.
