HD24 Ebay Shipping

Newbie here, I have decided I want to pick up an HD24 for recording my band: full drum kit, bass, two guitars vox etc....

I am going to bid on ebay for a used one, but how durable are these things? Do they ship well, assuming good packaging, and can the controls survive several owners?

You never really know the history of stuff on the 'bay....

If they use the original packing it should ship well. You can always contact the seller on Ebay and ask them questions about the item they are selling. If you plan to buy some of great value, it is always a good idea to get shipping insurance on your purchase. I hope this helps you.
 
Thanks, just sent a couple messages off to the sellers.

Is the HD24 pretty durable though? I know alot of people take them out for location recording, and it seems from the posts I've read that the HD24 has perfromed pretty well even with extensive lugging around. I guess that's my main question.

I've found mine to be pretty rugged. I've dragged it around to shows for five years now, and it just keeps running fine. It's been amazingly reliable.
 
I bought mine off ebay for $1,475.00(US) and it was new in the unopened box. The seller was musicgear4less. Their rating is 99.9 and 9000+ transactions. Pretty good in my opinion. I checked and they don't have any HD24's on the block right now. Might drop them an email and see if they could get you one. They were a dealer at the time I bought. Don't know if that's changed since 2003. Best of luck the HD24 is a killer unit and I'd buy another at full price if I needed 24 more channels.
 
There is a store on ebay called Musiciansadvocate. They sold me a brand new hd24 for $1225.00 through their best-offer feature. Altogether, with shipping, I paid $1255. Pretty good deal.
