Anyway, any chance you could do a quick recording of the same source and performance (preferably vocal) through both mics, and post the files? That would probably be very useful (and appreciated) by a lot of folks. I can host if you'd like.
...I will try to do the comparison recordings, although I've got a time restraint on this particular session...but I will need your assistance to post the files (I haven't a clue 'bout how to do that)...
...the tube vendor I use for my vintage NOS tubes recommends the "Burn-in" process before recording...also, I was told that MXL actually burns-in V69M mics at their headquarters before using them as warranty replacements...this may be to make sure that there are no defects before shipping...I just figured it can't hurt to give the tubes a good "warming up" before putting them to work...thanks for the info though...
