I have a Hammond C3 that is living in my studio and I know nothing about how to oil it. I found the two little cups but what do I put in them? How often and how much?I have no manual. A friend left it here after a session and it has become a popular instrument around here. I want to keep it in good shape so any maintenance tips would be appreciated. Also the Leslie 147 is a bit sticky in shifting from slow to fast and rumbles a bit in fast. Should I lube the plungers? If so , with what?

The tonewheels need special oil. It gets to the wheels through cloth wicks, like an old lantern, so you have to use the right stuff. They don't need much maintenance beyond the tonewheel lubing. That is all I know.
You can get oil here, and probably other places as well. There are probably forums out there where you can find out about the Leslie.

Manuals are $$, and complicated. It seems organ repair and maintenance is only slightly less complex than open-heart surgery, and almost as expensive. The local guy does pretty well, that's for sure.

I oil mine once a year...

they say more often if it gets over 5 hours a week. The Leslie gets once a year too.

Thanks hixmx,
That's what I needed to know. Now I just have to find some. Is this a machine shop kind of thing or maybe electronics supply house?
