Good Cable!

first off, you're putting words into my mouth I didn't say, "Yeah,this shit is good". I said, "its really nice stuff". Don't you think having this TYPE of cable would be an improvement, even though it is in the nano seconds of difference? According to all of the logistics and technical info you have all found and described about this stuff, its relative to the information that the monster web page describe about this TYPE of cable. So in other words its not "hype" its fact. You have to think past the sales bullshit and realize that the moster cable I found was the first thing i came across that had the term "time aligned" on it........thats the only reason i posted it.....cause its the only thing I have seen like that before so I could bring it about.

So I'm wonderin if you splice this crap out so the bigger (aka low frequency carrier) wire is hooked into the big speaker on my monitor, and the smaller(aka hi-frequency carrier) wire is hooked up to my little tiny speaker in my monitor, would i even NEED a cross-over thingy?Seems to me it would make those mean old Genelecs a lot cheeper.More like those speakers you see in the Guitar Center's really really cool studio room.You know the place you can go try out all the fantastic gear they carry.

some of their stores carry Genelecs too................lol. Are you saying Genelecs are cheap too?
 
why dont we relate this arrival time discrepancy to the sample rate of the typical sound card- what are ya recording at 96kHz...192kHz...? Thats a sample 96,000 times every second..thats alot of sample.... how does that relate to 50nano seconds discrepancy? thats 0.00000005 second vs. 0.00096... looks negligable. so even if the signal arrives at different times (as stated above) chances are good that it will never the less end up on the same sample- i.e. youll never hear that- you may hear a better quality cable but i would argue that time alignment wont be your deciding critical factor. im not an electrician or an engineer but that makes sence to me

Zallen, I have to guess that you were horribly unaware of the hornets nest you stirred up just by mentioning 'time alignment'. It is an often debated feature and many people believe it is just a bit of snake oil. If you were truly unaware then your best bet is to just quietly let this thread die and move on.

Before you recomend anything too 'cutting edge' you might want to do a search because a lot of stuff has been around forever they just change the marketing hype every few years.

My professional credits were a number of NE regional and national advertising campaigns, along with a hell of a lot of "industrials". Yeah, you have seen some of the shit I worked on, and no, I will not admit to any of the specific crap I worked on. I hated that shit, and that is why I no longer work on it. I decided to quit the day I heard a brand manager say of a jingle, "that's great, it won't offend anyone." I realized that I was not making music any more, just crap. I got out, and am glad I did. God save me from jingles. That is also why I watch almost no commercial television, because I can tell who did which commercials every time. ARGGGGGHHHHH!!!!!!!!!

If I ever get around to making my album, I will post some of it.

If you look you will notice I do not have the Gandhi quote set as a signature, but I type it in on every post I make. It is not there to spread a mesage to others, but to remind me of how much harder I need to work in order to live up to Gandhi's example. I admit it, I should not have gone to the mom thing.
