FYI, the acoustics were Washburn D10 Acoustic/Electric pickups hard panned, along with an MXL 67 mic panned center for a more natural sound. 3 takes.

The drum track may not be the best in the world (hey, it's programmed drums...), but it gives a picture of how big those choruses can be made, and I like what it adds to the dynamics. Once you can get a real track in there, it would be even more awesome than it is!

Are you using the MXL 67 for the vocals too?

Originally, in 2002, yes. In the versions I posted here, I used a cheapo Oktava MK319 ----> Firepod.
The electric guitars were run from a v-amp II ---> ART 'Toob' MP ---> SB Live soundcard. Ah.... what a setup that was.
Thank goodness I don't have that junk anymore.
It was so hard to get a natural sound out of anything.

Bump!
Anyone else care to share their opinions?
Err...uh ummm...yes, I do. :D

Jazz, ever thought of getting one of the drummers here to lay down a drum track for you?

I think that is basically all you need. I love your song. Never as much as "Hard to Breathe", but I don't think that one can be replaced heartwise...It is such a special song to me.

Once more....somebody out there pick up on this dude...HE ROCKS~~

What interface is used ..........?

It all depends on which clip you listened to.
The newer stuff is with a Firepod.
That 1st post you quoted was old.
The older stuff was a good ol Sound Blaster Live card (GASP! - its all I had in high school!)

I'm glad you like it.

JazzMang........thanks for the info. I am thinking of buying a firepod and do away with my Tascam controler...just don't know how easy it will be using the mouse to move all the buttons etc in Cubase. But I think the firepod is something that will do the job without having to always be fighting the controler and wondering which switch works what. My controler is a Tascam 428.......I call it the Blue Bastard..it has a mind of it's own. And now the rec button does not work anymore. So I am in the market for something GOOD to connect up the computer and cubase SX3.

The firepod's a good way to go at a good price.
I am trying to save up for an RME fireface tho, just because it seems to be of higher quality.... but its $1000 more expensive than the firepod, so I'll be saving for a long time!

Yay! I finally got the Fireface in! Lets see what it brings... :p

Amazing Vox.
Amazing tune.
Amazing acoustic playing.
So that leaves you with a pretty cool song. Oh, don't get me wrong this is not a Britney Spears pop song, but I'm sure you weren't going for that either. :)

Cool song. Like how the bass and the acoustic guitar are the only two accompaniments to the song.

Nice yelling into the empty stadium sound there.

So is that two guitars, one doing the melody stuff and the second doing plain chord rhythm? Or is this one git. (To me, these days git only means git-r-done).

I you were selling this on a CD, I'd buy it. (More likely I'd download it from BitTorrent but you'd be worth spending the time on. LOL Hey, I might paypal you the money tho! :p).

:p

Both acoutics were playing the same thing, just panned left and right. Speaking of acoustics, if I can get a decent sound out of my setup, I may re-record them with my newly set-up guitar and fireface and new mics... i guess we'll see how that pans out this weekend...

BAM!

Sounds good to me. Vox are a little loud at the beginning, then they are a little quiet towards the end.

I have listened, and listened, and listened.....

Exciting = Driven Acoustics

Acoustic Guitar (or two) ?
Accoustic Bass?
Congos?
Chick back up singer?

Drama...Violin?

Extra exciting....sax?

Absolutely Killer song.....All of the above!

Well, that is my two dollars worth :D

What true said! :D

Another rockin tune man! With this one however, it does sound like everything except for the vocals is kind of thin, missing a lot of lows and low-mids. Maybe it's a side effect of the better converters in the fireface that you need to compensate for...maybe it's something else :)

Anyway, props on another good song!

I think dropping some bass guitar in there will fill it up a good bit... it was the same way with 'Hard to Breathe'
