If it weren't for the fact that it'd violate a few copyright laws, I'd post some.

good call
my bad.
hahaha. I am very sleep tonight
well good luck anyways

Rokket, some cd recording software comes with hiss and click/pop tools.(Roxio for one). Do you have something like that in your software? Or is vegas the burning software you use? Might check on a free demo of some of these, if you have the time.
Just a thought.

Actually, I do have Roxio Easy CD and DVD creator 6! I never thought of that! Good idea, Dogman!

Cool. It helped me when I got some older recordings off my 4-track cassette. Hope it works.

I'll let you know!!! :D

As promised, here is the result (of course I can't post a clip, but...)

I recorded through Roxio to capture the audio (I don't have Vegas set up to record), then took the tracks to Vegas to fix them.

I downloaded the noise reduction plugin, but since it's only a demo and I'm a cheap bastard, it clicked and beeped, so I didn't use it. Instead, I played with the eq, noisegate and compression.... BAM! Nice tracks, very low to almost inaudible hiss...

A smashing success!

As a point of reference for in future ... the noise reduction is the ONLY good thing about Adobe Audition / Cool Edit Pro. It is another which takes a 'profile' of the noise and removes it ... so if you can get a demo or trial of that, give it a go.

I recorded an entire session with a TV link to the control room, it was making that high-pitched whine that old tellies make ... ten seconds per track with the noise reduction and it was all gone and my life was saved from angry bandmates. :)
