G7 Microphone starting

Now, finding a suitable body. There's Skylars at $300. Not sure I want to spring for that much on the first one. So looking for alternatives. A small piece of brass is about $20-30. Looking at replacement headbaskets as well in teh $30-40 range. Probably start there.

One big note: I did get a MXL V69 but it is not quite big enough for the G7 PCB, and it doesn't seem any of those mics are going to fit. so that is why I'm looking elsewhere. Plan to use the V69 with the Royer circuit. The submini 5840 I've learned is similar/same to the miniature 6AK5 so I'm planning on using the V69 body with a larger tube.

Looking over the schematic for the G7 and the BigUgly RoyerMod Mod, it looks like the circuits are nearly identical with different part values, except for an extra (2) capacitors and (2) resistosr on the G7. (Using a different transformer with no feedback winding) so mmmmh, maybe I'll make the V69 into a G7 after all, with the BigUgly PCB's using a cloned BV8 transformer instead of a Haufe (never planned to spring for the Lundahl.)
