fostex4030 sync Fostex B16d to pc?

Well, I decided I wanted to try synching my reel to reel to my computer via 4030 sync box.This is where I'm stumped.I know I have to stripe time code on a track on the reel to reel .I want the computer to be the master and the reel to reel to be the slave.On the back panel of the 4030 I have under the controller section a midi jack and I'm wondering if I hook this up to the midi out on my midi interface so the computer is sending MTC to the 4030 will it work?I am planning on using it with vegas video 3.0.Does the 4030 convert MTC to smpte.Anybody?
 
I don't know Harley. It'd be worth a try.

I would go over to the Fostex web site and ask a techie.
 
I'd have a better chance asking the poor sole at guitar centers :D
than asking fostex tech support.
