I had an JVC. Looked a lot like RunDMC's. Took like 14 c batteries to power and actually had an AM band (hard to find on a portable these days)

Lookin at the old farts thread, i forgot it started with a "what was your first setup?" theme.
so, guys, what did you all start on?
The first thing i had cost me £25 and it was a yamaha mt-120 4-track cassette recorder.
The band i was in used it to multitrack new song ideas and what not, and for some reason i was selected as the 'operator'
We were soo naive, I thought i was les paul or somethin'. lol.
hmph, it's been some learning curve.
