It's just far too expensive and over hyped. It's like the 'must have' software that you just don't need. (+ the ilok)
Plus it'll be me answering all your questions.
Seriously, I'm ^this^ close to jumping ship to reaper. I imagine I will next time I need a PT upgrade.
Pick whatever is cheap and suits your style+needs. It's the one place where you can skimp, arguably.
GOt the monitoring to work properly in ableton live. I guess audacity was giving problems.
I wanted to know that should I lock the xlr input in the interface tightly or just plug it in without any force as it detects the signal both way. I just dont want to damage my interface. Which way should I plug it in?
And my input mode is set to mono. In this mode the 2nd input on my interface doesnt work with a single mic ( I was just testing if it was fine ) but in stereo mode it does but the signal can only be heard in my right ear. Is that normal?
Did you set the drivers up for the 2i2 properly at the start? Normally for usb devices you run the supplied (but always check for later drivers on the website) software and then when prompted, plug in the AI. Sometimes you need to re boot the PC.
In Audacity you must go> Edit>Preferences then set the Saffy as the playback and recording device. Then check that it will playback a .wav file (rip a CD).
You can of course only monitor a live mic on headphones and closed back ones for preff' otherwise feedback!
