I guess whether you are in a studio doing 100 takes to hit a vocal line correctly or doing the same on the PC seem irrelavent to me. Am I missing your point??
Zip..You hit it right on the head....To me the PC studios make it too easy, where you can sharpen flats, flatten sharps, without having to physically and emotionally redo it. That was the only point I was trying to emphasise. Hey..if it works for you and others...go for it...

Thats right as far as Im concerned If you are corrrecting pitch and recording compter generated accompanyment than you may as well not be doing this at all.
I once heard a cd that a singer did with "band in a box" and not only did it sound exactly like computer generated music but his vocals were weak as well and needed to be tweeked.
And the mastered copy Sucked. But it impressed a few drunks at the bar he hung out at. because they thought he was the bomb. like doing a cd that way was some kind of achivement.
