Beezoboy,

I have been overseas for the last week, so sorry for the delay.

You nned to round out your mics just a bit. They are definately very usable and you should do fine as long as your engineering skills are up to the task.

The T3 is one of my favorite mics, and yes they will do well for stereo, but I am not sure you want your stereo pair to be tubes. If you like the sound and coloration, then fine. The C3's are my choice for you, unless you can't afford the money. If you can't get the B3's. Be sure if you or anyone out there is getting a pair of the B Series, make sure you match up the color Dots on the front of the box so you really have a close match pair.

That is my 2 cents!! :D

Thanks so much everyone for helping me out. Only a month to go before I will be able to get these mics.

Richard Monroe - Sorry for the typo, I'll see if I can get that taken care of. Just wondering 1 thing though, who is the cambridge violinist you were speaking of? Hmmm....that is a good idea about the C3 and T3. I'll be sure to post in the Mp3 Clinic when I get something recorded. For now I do have some songs on the download section of my website at www.elohsa.com/downloads.htm.

Michael Jones - I would like to thank you very much for your help. If only I had the money for 2 TLM103's. I'll almost have enough for 2 KM184's and I will definately have enough for 2 Shure sm81's. I heard a piano recording you did with those (sm81's)and liked it very much. It sounds like you have a great piano and some good chops too! But I need variety in vocal mic's AND an option for stereo recording, hence the decision to get LD's. I am trying to get a recording buisiness going to record highschool bands, choirs, and orchestra's, but right now it is not happening so I am not in desperate need of SD condensers right now. And I definately want an SM7!! Maybe for Xmas.

alanhyatt - Thanks so much for the advice. After searching around this place for a bit I thought you might recommend the C3's anyway. Thanks for making an affordable multi-pattern mic that is of high quality. You're company will most likely be recieving some of my money in the near future. Oh and if you aren'y busy could you elaborate on "rounding out my mics"? Any suggestions?

Everyone else thankyou very much for all the posts and advice. Maybe I'll have something you all can hear in the near future to show for it.

Beezoboy, an EV RE20 might be a better practical choice first before
getting a SM7 as inexperienced "talent" won't have to deal with
working the mike as much due to its much lower proximity effect.
It's also less dependent on which mic pre you're using, as the SM7
has such low sensitivity. Just a thought...

Best of luck on your selections,
Chris

I'll give that a thought..... I have heard it on bass drum and voice and I do think it sounds good, but I'll need a reinforced stand to hold that sucker up. My next 2 purchases as far as dynamics go will either be a Sennhieser MD421 or an SM7. I really can't decide which to get. I here of people using the 421 to mic everything under the sun it seems like, but the SM7 supposedly is one of the best vocal mics ever. It is a hard decision. But those will come after I get some quality LD condensors.
