The Amazon sellers appear to be 'Woodwind and Brasswind' and 'Music123'. Both are reputable sellers, so shouldn't be a problem with a fake mic.

I have a Kopul mic cable and it's decent quality and usually the Auray gear is OK as well. B&H has a lot of my money for both audio and photo gear. Very good retailer.

Any suggestions for the condenser? AT2020? Low end Sennheiser? Looking for inexpensive bang for the buck stuff.
 
I'd look at getting a pair of Rode M3's rather than a single NT1.
Great as drum overheads - great on acoustic guitars - good on cabs (with careful placement) and decent on vocals (again with careful placement).

SE mics definitely worth a look too... I love my 2200mkii.
 
Amazon themselves are pretty reliable, but they don't check the products many of their partners supply. SM57s are so widely counterfeited, buying from anyone who is not a Shure authorised dealer is foolish. Shure dealers will never be cheap, and if you see a cheap 57, it cannot be a Shure if brand new. Best deal is always 5-10 pounds/dollars less than the full price - so a half price 57 means it's a dodgy one.
