It seems that if you are a new installation instructions, but PRESONUS already installed so you do not need to do this. This work for me, I had to use PRESONUS how the Firebox, and it is FireWire. When I have lost over a FireWire connection to the combustion chamber, I just do.

I think it has lost something in translation.

:wtf::wtf::wtf::wtf:

There seems to be a language barrier here....Shenglu. It may be mine that is hard to understand.....

Welcome!

I'm really curious as to what the last bit about the combustion chamber is about.
When all is helpless, throw it in a pit of fire.

Well, I've got my interface back. Things already looking better. First time plugged in and it synced right away. Managed to do 2 things differently that I was not able to last time either. 1 - It actually came up in the "safely remove media" thing at the bottom. Even last time when I got it to work the first time, that was never there. Which is the reason I just switched it right off, rather than using that first. 2 - It actually loaded up Universal Control without any problems. Last time it told me I needed to update something, even after I did update everything, it didn't stop telling me it needed to be updated. Then after the first time, it refused to even read that the interface was connected [and the interface wouldn't sync].

It's quite late now and everyone is home, so I'm not going to be able to test it out more thoroughly until tomorrow. But I'm optimistic.

Cool. Thanks for getting back to us.

Well it's always good to let people know how things work out after they've given you helpful advice. =] Hopefully help anyone else with the same problem too.

The update problem could be that the computer has an updated driver but the flash in the device has the old driver, or the other way round. All you probably need to do is update the driver again via the download from the presonus site and follow the update instructions.

If you read the whole thread, I did do that and everything else that everyone could think of. It was just not working. Sometimes it happens. I managed to get it replaced fast and free. No complaints about that at all.

I did read the whole thread, if the computer is saying you need to update, somewhere along the way the update did not complete the install. With presonus updates there are software and firmware updates, sometimes when you install a software update there also needs to be a firmware update, and vice-versa. It looks as if one or the other has not installed correctly.

Presonus are weird.

I bought an firestudio mobile last week and set it up with two macs (not at the same time :p) both running 10.6.8 booting 64 bit.

It worked fine on one, but on the other it went all 'red lighty' until I downloaded a newer beta driver.

Still don't know why.

I think it was the firmware inside the interface itself. I couldn't get it to update, because it wasn't even connecting.

I think a lot of people have problems like that. It really seems silly. I'm sure Presonus will get round to fixing things up a little better at some point though.

The solid red light issue is in fact the interface itself. Usually is caused by the unit getting too hot, and a capacitor has gone bad inside.

It happens for a number of reasons. It's just a general light to say "I'm not working right, fix me". This is quite an old thread you brought up anyways. This particular one was solved by getting a new one sent out.

re-open universal control and and hit the clock source button from spdif to master a few times mine turned on instantly after 5 hours of looking up this problem

Haha, durrrral, this thread is appx. a year old... Reviving an old thread, buddy.

??

It always helps to actually read a thread before you reply to it. At the time, I remember there was no way to get into Universal Control. The problem was solved by getting a new unit sent out, which has been working for me perfectly since. =]
