Now that you mentioned it, I went back and listened, and I hear what you mean. I never noticed before.....I think that can be easily fixed. Who put the drums in?

That's a killer voice True, you should be recording more. Love the outro sounds too. I always love songs were you can tell there's a lot of emotion going.

I'm trying to figure out what's wrong with the drum track allignment. It might not be that the band started on a different bar. It might be that the band's "3" is my "1"...or something. It just sounds like the beat is inverted somehow, and those fills really sound weird where they are.

Yeah something is really not right . . . it's inconsistent, some parts are OK and some very not OK. I suspect there are some a bad edits somewhere, the intro, around 0:30, 0:51, 1:03. I think the drums stay steady but the other instruments maybe skip a beat. I feel kinda queasy now :o

Also, Dog I don't wanna come down on you, but the original bass line--synth, I forget?--really moved the song forward. I think it was probably the hook :o

Kick ass guys!! I am thristy for more though. Why did ya cut it so quick? :( ;)
:D Galactical thanks Space Ace!! I am glad you liked it!!

The ~cut quick~ is my fault!

The next one will be longer! ;)

I hear what you are saying David. I just listened to her first take on this, and teh piano is much brighter. I think with us passing an Mp3 around, we killed some of the piano. It should probably be remixed with all the seperate tracks, instead of built on how it is. It would give a chance to make room for all the sounds. Now True has another project.... :D

I liked it, the vocals were strong and i can sense a hell of a lot emotion in them. Very nice, I agree with it being quite short, but it's a good thing i think.

Nice track :)
Thank you so very much, Tifstorey for giving it a listen and your kind words!!

Cool stuff guys.
Great drumming from Ramster, bluesy and cool from the President, Bricktight by Dogman, and a Shirly bassey Blues vox from true.

I love colabs, and this was very cool, get the drums on the 1 and you have a rawker :)
Thank you Nak!!! Colabs are going to be at the top of my list! I love being admist all of the talent that you guys possess!

No problem, man. Do you think I follwed the piano too much, and not the drums? And I think I lost something towards the end. The bass is not realy playing with either the drums, nor the piano. Is that what you mean?

Love the tune! Sounds great, even the drums, though you guys are discussing them being off, it kinda adds a little something to it, love it!~
I played my 12 string along with for about a half an hour, totally dig it, keep it up guys! :D

OK, I figured it out (I don't want to dwell on this but it really doesn't sound good at all). The drums are 2 BEATS ahead of everything. I'm on "3" and everyone else is on "1". The drums have to be moved back 2 beats (or forward? Whichever one makes them start later). Listen to the very beginning. The first time she says "love", which is on "1", I'm already halfway through a bar. So what it's doing is actually inverting the beat. And then you have fills starting at the weirdest places (2 beats before they should). I'm sorry, I don't want to make this thread about the drum track, but it's got to be fixed, it's just wrong.

Nah, although once the drums are fixed I think you'll be better. No, it's that the original part lead into each 1, starting before from the 3. Your part is more trailing off the 1. The problem with the original part was it was a loop, so it got monotonous, but work a little of it back into the track, especially when the vocal is out, and the rest of your part is fine.

The drums are weak sounding, but other than that the recording is fine. The songs ounds more like an aside or an out take than a song on it's own; it's sounds liek a piece of a song. It doesnt build or really cover any ground. It just kind of starts and then stops without saying much of anything. This has that classic "after dark" feeling to it, but the song just doesn't convey anything to me.

Thanks, man. I think I understand what you are saying. I might re-track the bass, as it was out of tune, and I nailed some real clunkers anyway. :D

True, do you have all teh individual tracks for this?

Lets fix it..........

Hey True! Finally get to hear this. Everyone did a great job on it, but it's your voice that really makes this song. (By the way, my drum track isn't lined up quite right...It seems as though the band starts playing on my second bar and now all my rolls are somewhere in the middle of nowhere...just a slight nit a noticed)

RAMI......I put the drum track in as things started out(It was not a loop as some have said..it was your entire track..so if some of the beats are on time and other parts seem to be off what does that say about the big picture????)......it seemed OK at first......but as things moved on I can hear what your talking aboutl. I still have the orginal with the piano & voice along with your drum track. WE can fix it...just need to know where you want the beats. Better yet, I will send you the file in Cubase and you can put it any place that seems fitting. It kind of sounds like overdrumming with the rolls out of sink. As an old drummer I understand your concern. Lets fix it with what ever it takes. OK

Choctaw has the vox, keys, and drums.

I can't say much about mixing since I'm no mixing expert, but just wanted to say this is one of the coolest tracks I've heard on soundclick yet :) Awesome everyone :)
