Well I moved the drums and sent them to True.. starting 2 beats early before Rami wrote his request to start them 2 beats later... and it was playing with the keys and voice...sounded fine. But have no idea what will happen when adding bass & guitar. That file I sent True has 3 individual tracks...so the drum can be moved over either way, in fact it is a cubase project and can accomplish anything that software can do.............but as I said in another post it will effect some other places that in my view are OK where they are. Might need to cut and paste some licks. As it sits now your drum roll starts when everything else does and it plays right on time thru the entire piece. I am not a big time sound man........just having some fun. So to get real serious you will need others to step in and do a jam up professional job so as to make peace in the jungle.

If your like me......it is better to do it all live and sort things out playing off each instrument as it happens. Putting all the sounds together the way this thing went could be anybodies game. Know one knows where any instrument was played in the mind of the one who created it.

Thanx Choctaw! Let's see what happens from here! :)

Sure True! That'd be awesome to do some surfin' tune. We should get a collab going with Ms. Dolphin and anyone else who wants to join in for some good old times on the great waves. We could have killer keyboards and well... here's what the collab might look like... :D

This could possibly be the most self -indulgent,cringe worthy, lame, steaming pile of hot garbage that I have ever heard here on this bbs.

That's strange, it showed "In Control" as posting last post, but it isn't here. They must have erased it. :D

Anyway guys, you want to go ahead and send me your files, so I can try to mix it. but STILL, one of you mix it also. Just decide who, and I will send you my files. In fact, I will go ahead and send them to all of ya, since the project belongs to us all. Just decide which one is posting the final mix.

I want them, so I can practice mixing, and I will even post my mix for the 'pick to the bone' analystic part. :D

I figure...how else will I learn, except to jump right in and do it!

I really do love you guys...................

......no matter what your wives, or women tell me. :p

Sounds good everyone.

I remember this song from way back, I guess about 7 months ago. The drums do sound 'off'; I hope that can be fixed. I think the drums should be in the mix a little more, as well as the bass, but I understand that because of the mp3 swapping and whatnot it might not be so easy.

You've got a cool voice, True !!!!

Cool tune.
I did not have the patience to for dialup, so I had to wait until I was at work, and all coworkers were away!

Nicely done!

Nice track, and again I am most impressed with your voice, True. If only the others knew what I know!!!

Good work all around! Can't wait to be involved in the next one!

I like the tune but that kick drum panning is distracting. Dont like that at all. Other than that,... I think the keys sound good. I disagree that they need brightening. I agree with the bass needing pulled out. I'm not really diggin' the drums in this.
I liked the vocs. Very unique. However there are some lines that could be re-done. I like they way the vocs and the lead sit in the mix. Real good lead tone.
Sounds like the bass is out of tune from 2 min on to the end. It may be out the whole song but i cant really tell.

Please,..fix the kick drum panning. I think it really hurts the tune.

My two cents.

take 'er easy,..

I don't blame you...but I don't think the kik drum is panned. Maybe the whole kit is panned, but when the drum track was done, the kik was right down the middle.
The thing you might find distracting is the fact that the whole drum track is 2 beats off so the beat is inverted...Basically, you're not hearing the right beat to the tune. I love True's voice in this, and everyone did a great job, but I can't listen to it.

Rami, if I send you the keys and vocals, you could sit the drums where you feel they should be, because I dont think I could. Then send me the file, and we will go from there okay. I don't want you unhappy with the way your track sounds, and if you put them in, then it will be as you want, okay?

Yeah, but if I put them in, I can't blame anyone else if it sucks....:)

hehe...I don't mind trying to line it up. You have the WAV files?

Choctaw sent me Cubase files, but my LE version won't load it. So now what?

Also, if everyone wants to send me files, I will try and re-mix it.

If Choctaw moved the drums 2 beats earlier instead of later, he did the right thing. I was wrong in saying the drums were ahead. They are 2 beats behind. I knew it was in the middle of a bar but was wrong about which direction. The original version is still up, right? That's what I'm going by. I don't have CUBASE but I have the original drum file if anyone needs it.

(And I think not panning the drums to the left might be a good idea, but I don't want to push my luck...hehe) :D

Can you handle the cubase file?
I don't have Cubase, so I will need Mp3's. 320K Mp3's should do fine for this. If the drums/keys/vox are all one file, that should work.
