Finally found what I been looking for

And cat season runs January 1 thru December 31 in Texas....

That white powdery stuff on the motor makes me think of dried cat pee.

Maybe this is a dumb question, but is there anything to suggest that a cat peed on/in this tape deck?

I know I'm going to get laughed at for posting this!

:pToo funny, nope no cat pee, just rust from a missing top-cover and probably water dripped inside, both reel-motors and 2 boards are destroyed.
Transformer have some rust-spots but can save it.
Even the solenoid was so rusted it was stuck, brake drum have blobs of rust so replaced the whole thing from a 6300 model I had parted out.
Still waiting for a hopefully positive answer about the 7300 parts-deck.:)

Fixed the cabinet in the meantime for the transport section, all corners were coming apart, and need to make some custom vents on top and backside.
Capstan motor is fine, amp section had a broken board inside but nothing major that I couldn't repair.
Contacted Teac about a service manual for RX model last week, but haven't heard back yet.

lo.fi...no laughing matter...take it from me; a guy who's posted up detailed pics of rodent poo on PCB's.

Our cats aren't allowed in the house...they will run in, shoot something and run out...can't come in anymore, so instead in angst they poop on our roof...only on the East side tho'.

Yes, yours take the price
Couple of years back I found a Teac A-1200 with chewed up wires inside and a nest, mouse was gone but left a mess..

Update..the 7300 model from my friend arrived, not a RX model, but 4-track version with 3-3/4 + 7-1/2 speed.
Complete and little rough around the edges, but not as bad I thought it's gonna be, decided to fix this one until the right RX model transport section can be found.
So...after testing, R-channel didn't record, heads has 80 % left, pinch-roller need new rubber, some scratchy switches, adjusted the brakes and cranked it up for a test-run:

If anyone has a lead on the transport section I would be a happy camper:rolleyes:
