if i have 2 sound track in .wav format or wut ever the format is, how would i put it together into 1 sound track? like mixing it so that it plays toghether, or one playing in the background. this is real basic but unfortunately i'm a completely newb, so help plz. thanks.
PS: i might as well stick this into, i have this track that at some parts are a bit louder than the rest of the track, and it sounds really harsh, it wouldn't be the problem is the rest of the track is as loud, but a sudden jump is not great. any how, is there a way to "flat" that part out, or make it a little softer for the ears :) thanks.

You'll need to get a multi-tracker.

There are a variety of them.

They ALL have demo versions at their respective home sites.

If you are on a serious budget. You can go the shareware/freeware route.

i'm using cool edit pro and sound forge, i don't know if they have that option, i'll go look around now that i have the right term. thanks. can u do that with cool edit pro? i'm more comfortable using it.

found the multi tracking in cool edit pro, but i can't seems to record while playing, i have a crappy sound blaster PCI 128, can it play back while record? i found it extremely difficult just to get the sound in sync if i can't play back while record. thanks.

you might want a new soundcard. to mix down, you go to edit and select mixdown to file.

what are your computer specs?

i got pretty crappy computer
barton 2500+ @ 180 X 11 ~2Ghz
512 MB PC 3200 Patriot RAM @ CL2.5, i'm gonna try n do CL2 pretty soon
that's all, other stuff are just accesories and stuff, nothing important.

dude, that computer is more than enough

get a new soundcard. like an audiophile 2496.
