Univalve & Avatar Speaks
K...I went to see the VanHalen gang reunited. Great show btw. I noticed something a bit odd with Eddie's guitars though. On the tail end, he has what looks like a 10" long, ugly ass eye bolt sticking out. It appears to be a strain relief for his cable. What's up with that? OMG...butt ugly.

As for his playing, still top notch but a little darker and a little more "out of the box". I guess after all the years of exploring the fret board, he's looking for something new to come out. He also seemed to spend much of the time with his back to the audience.

Anyways...if you get the chance to see them...I highly recommend it.

i saw ....

them on opening nite in Greensboro N.C. he was vey friendly to th crowd no back to anyone that i recall ,going back to see them in Charlotte ...they did autographs for peeps up close really a great show all around ....somebody get me a doctor was a hi point with M. Anthony singing lead vox ...seems i remember on th III tour that it is some kindas preamp or special cable that leads to an effect or something , he does hold his strap on with eye bolts though so part of that is correct ...and it is rather obtrusive

It's essentially a coathanger. It just keeps the cable out of the way. Eddie is not a fan of wireless. He thinks that everything has to be physically connected. Some kinda hippie "I'm Eddie Van Halen and I can say anything I want" thing. VAN HALEN IS GOD.

Two freaking dates in South Carolina and NOT ONE DATE in Virginia? Damn!!! Hey, VH Washington D.C. != Virginia.

Sorry, just a little bitter.

I just saw Van Halen in Oakland (Go Raiders) and Van Halen rocked one of the loudest shows I've seen/heard. Eddie looked like he was sick and he did have his back to the crowd for some of the show, I think he was looking at Alex. Kick @ss show though.

Now only if we could get some good ska bands to come down here....
