Is one of the blokes from the Wu Tang Clan. He also has one of the coolest rap names I have ever heard.
I think there is a Wu name generator somewhere on the web. Mine was "action packed mentalist"...sweet!
"Only Built for Cuban Linx"is the best Cd out of the Wu Tang camp. 2nd would be Liquid Swords for me. Their quality always was subpar but the deliveries were good. Compare it to a old Outkast CD. Bobby Digital was better when they went to protools, but it was still lacking quality IMHO. Killa Army was good but not there yet either. And so on. (Deadly Venoms were slept on )
It just goes to show how times have changed for Hip Hop quality. I guess back then you had to pay for quality by using a top notch engineer ans studios. Some groups had good quality sounding CD's or tapes,, most didnt prolly cause they didnt get a good engineer. The more going on in a track, the lesser the quality back then. There were few exceptions from my POV.
If you listen to older Hip Hop and compare it to todays, it's surely different. It's warmer and smoother (grimyer) , but thats not what people want now. They want what they are used too, digital pushed !!
Listen to Digable Planets, nothing like today's hip hop but sounds good. Pull out a ole Ganstar tape or cd. Does it sound like todays' hip hop,,, Nope !!.
anyway, my favorites on production from back in the day ( based on track count, creativity, hard work)... Hank shocklee (Amerikkka's Most wanted).. and Dr. Dre " Niggas 4 Life "
For waayy back in the day "License to Ill" better yet, " Beat Street", "Jungle Brothers", "Skinny Boys"
They paid for it to sound like dat. Thousands!! although it sounds like crap right now ! to most, LOL
LA Dreamteam,, for da ole heads. LOL
It's just Technology, "might not be experience anymore"
