hey folks,

anyone used/heard the event triad monitor system? it's the amplified one with 2 small satellites and a sub. i had the 20/20bas monitors for awhile and loved them. my studio is now in a very small room so the smaller the better, but i still want good monitors in the $500 range. any other suggestions as well?

thanks!

tony

I heard that they kick ass. I wish I had bought 'em instead of these 20/20's.

I heard the Event Triad system when I was shopping for monitors several months ago. They sounded great compared to most others, but I don't recall them being in the $500 range back then, closer to $1000. Maybe they have come down in price quite a bit, but they were more than I could afford to pay at the time, and I ended up spending $600 on some Tannoys. The only thing I compared that Triad system to that sounded better were some Mackies that the salesman was just trying to show off, knowing I couldn't afford the $2000 price tag.

We're on the same wave-length on this.

so what other options do i have in a small room? like i said, i really loved the event 20/20bas monitors, they're just too big for my space. am i being unrealistic looking for something similar in a smaller package?

thanks,

tony

Actually, the 20/20's are probably better designed for small spaces than any system with a sub in it. You need to check into how sound waves develope. Go to http://www.silcom.com/~aludwig/ to get a little deeper into these issues before you buy monitors for a small room.
