You are my Hero!

F/I, when (mostly younger) people say, "Aw, that Beatles music is such bubblegum crap",... I often remind them that in the context of the times, the Beatles were the most forward thinking, innovative and happening music on the planet! 40 years later it may seem easy to discount their worth,... but anyone who's been there knows differently!

Carry On!!

I don't know Reel, there are still alot of kids who still see how revolutionary the Beatles & the 60s were/are. Go on McCartneys web site and you'll see half of them are in thier early 20s and teens. It's still that as far as I'm concerned, it hasn't past it. It's like trying to get over the blues or bluegrass, jazz or classical music. It ain't gonna happen.

The one ray of promise I saw within a lot of my students is that they don't listen to new music. A number of them, even some of the more popular kids, don't listen to ANYTHING new, all classic rock and stuff.

I think that reflects poorly on their generation of artists, but it definitely does show some hope.

Welcome to the forum, Joe.

Are you still doing the SRC thing in NY?

:)

I am currently finishing my degree in audio at Columbia College in Chicago. I have been operating SRC out of Chicago, and I plan to stay here for a while. I will be graduating this May, and when I do, I am planning to set up a nice little studio, however I do need to get a real job. I love recording and mastering, but I don't think it will pay the bills right off the bat.
