Pretty cool man....nice sound to the guitars....bass has a great vibe also.
Vocals...maybe take one and keep it fairly dry, and bring teh wet one up just to where you notice it, then maybe drop it a db. This is a bit too wet for this song...a little convoluted. Dry the vox up a bit, and it should be ready to roll.

Song is cool....nothing super flashy, just some good sounds. I like it.

Hey queepo, music sounds great. Fat lead tone! The vox don't work for me though. All that layering is kinda awkward in relation to the music style. Maybe do a main vocal track right up the gut, and do some accent tracks for certain phrases or words. Overall sounds good though. :)

Hey Greg & Dogman, thanks for your comments....funny, I thought this was one of my more clean/understandable vocals...I did go back and took off the reverb I had on the lead vocal track...also added cowbell to the chorus :p...I think the vocals sound better now after your suggestions...the link at the top of the thread plays the new mix now......thanks a lot for the feedback, you guys help a lot!!

really nice tune. i agree with the other guys........don't over complicate it, i think the beauty of this track and type of music is that simple is done really well, you should aim for that.

Beasty Boys Style RAPBLUESROCK.
Cool music & playing - there is a bit of a phased effect with the vox - sounds a bit like the vocal at the beginning of Spirit of the Age by Hawkwind - the spoken intro.
Nice guitar tones.

I do tend to go a bit overboard on adding vocal tracks/effects etc, so your advice is well taken. I do only have 1 vocal track of the lead vocal, and 5 different tracks for the chorus and also the 1st word of each verse...going to try it with only one lead vocal track, and a additional track for the chorus..thanks for the feedback!!

Hey Ray, yeah I have a vst plugin on the vocals that is a chorus effect, I think the preset is called "rock singer" :p....I have recently figured out how to get my vst adapter to work in Cakewalks guitar tracks...so it has been a whole new world for me to be able to use VST plugins, and have been like a kid in a candy store with them on my recent stuff .....cool Hawkwind drop!

Sounds much better dude. Definitely better, but I still think you can lose some wetness from the vox, unless you really like it this way. Maybe just take the chorus off the vox. Go with a clean verb or quick slapback delay or something. Definitely better though and the rest sounds great.

The Beastie Boys comp is right on. At times it sounds like three piece power rock band with that prominent bass guitar/rhythm blend - nice. I don't mind the chorus on the vocals - it's there but not distracting me really. I like the vocal level - sits just on the edge, audible but not overly so. Not sure I'd call this country - whatever it is it sounds good.... :D:):D:)

Will revisit the vocals this weekend and try what you suggest...thanks again!

Ha, thats really cool about the BB's as I dig there stuff a lot (Pauls Boutique a huge fav) never considered going for that style or sound when doing this, I guess it just came out that way....I probably shouldn't have said country as a description, I guess the guitar fills had kinda a bowlegged good ol' boy vibe to em :D.
Thanks for the listen, appreciate your feedback!!

Hey Ax, listening on some pc speakers and sounds mixed well. Nice, Beastie BLUES in the house here  I personally like how the vox fit and the bass groove is catchy. Really like the jamming guitar lines though. To my ears the only times the vox fight with the guitar some is during the first "eight years gone" part. Fun tune to listen to man, keep the rocking up :D
