Thanks. They are pretty sweet. They have gotten a lot of bad press over using them unbalanced, and using the 1/4" out (meant for monitoring), vs the xlr out, which uses the tube power. I did both of these things when I first got mine. I plugged in a 1/4" cable to the monitor out, into the unbalanced input on my delta 1010 soundcard. Man, was I disapointed. Besides the loud hum, they sounded no better than my cheap art tps preamps. I have to say, the directions that come with the EH, are not good, thus so many problems. Joel Hamilton, straightened me out, and then they came alive. Walter

the one thing that keeps me from getting these post-haste are reports that they have not much head room (something i find super annoying)

is this a symptom of the 1/4 out?
or is that the same either way?
thanks

There's a bit of a noise floor I'm hearing. Was this room noise?

yes it was. This was their first time in a more than 1 mic recording set up. I didn't want to warn them about all the things they shouldn't and should do. I wanted to capture them as they feel most comfortable, in 1 take. A few things they did do were- not move back when getting louder on the vocal mic, moving their feet around from where we started and hitting the mic stands with them as they tapped. They also moved around in their seat alot, and their inside forearms were rubbing on the to guitar. Also my dogs were in there ( 1 60 lbs, and the other 85lbs.) and the outside noise, living in the city, bleeds in alot. I hate those dam booming gangster cars that go by more than anything. Also my computer fans can be heard on some quiet passages. I have it inside a big desk drawer when I record, but some of the mics pic it up. Walter

Walter, I think you should de-ess her voice some, around 7-9khz I guess.
Nice music.
Cheers
Matti
