Easiest way to edit audio tracks in Sonar?

Im having problems making accurate adjustments to audio Im multitrack mixing in sonar. It seems to always jump the cursor to the next measure... Any tips.. Im not on my comp right now (work) Im thinking a hard Zoom will do the trick but looking for your tips..

You're right! A close up will do the trick. Zoom as much as you like. To turn of "snap to measure" click the "n"-button. To adjust the snap-feature, hit Shift + N.

But if I have to do some serious editing, I prefer SoundForge. If you have it installed, just highlight the clip you wan to edit (click on it) and go Tools -> Sound Forge. This opens your clip in SoundForge, and when your done editing, just save the clip and close SoundForge. Whey you return to Sonar, Sonar asks you if you want to update your clips. Hit yes.

If you don't have SoundForge, you can get any audioeditor into the Tools menu in Sonar. Just download James Argos beautiful registry hack, and off you go... You'll find it here. (Well, I don't know if James is the author of the registry hack, but he brought it to my attention... :) )

Ill use the Shift N trick you mentioned above.. What Im doing is matching two tracks for bouncing the chorus......I tried selecting the tracks and pasting them into a new set but got all out of whack when the bounce to measure kept kicking the clip over....

SF is easier and more accurate, IMHO. If you need to do a lot of editing, that is.
 
...Moskus was right. It's easier to edit audio track (noise reducting, etc) if you have some audio editor software to company SONAR. Sound Forge, Cool Edit Pro, etc...
I wasn't the author of the registry hack, I just wrote myself based on experience. You can use it whether you like... Glad to see if it helps. :)

That was the point: Any other audioeditor if you wanna do some serious editing. ;)
 
Yeah, but clone the track first and archive it as these will be destructive edits.

Basic Song Editing.....

Im just matching two pieces of audio together to sound as one.
Crossfading... I used the tip, worked great.... The snap to measure adjustment threw me off a bit.... I would use Sound Forge but that is a different task... I do not want destructive editing. I simply wanted the easiest stapes to take two seperate audio takes and bland them as one.. (I record Rap music which has many doubles and triples)....

...so you wanna bounce two recorded audio tracks at once ? then make sure you SAVE the previous project first, rename the original and make backup. Then check both tracks timing. Make sure they both sync on the same start and end point. If you deal with noticed miss beat / latency there, then there won't be no help editing the result latter. Using "Fit to time" or "Slide" feature will help you. Make sure they both sound sync on the first step. Then you may try bounce to track feature. The result should be syncing in no problem...
