Slowing becoming un-noob.
So alright, I've narrowed my search for good drum mics down to two choices, for the most part.

Here is choice number one.

plus one more Sm-57 for another tom

plus these for cymbals

And here is choice number two.

So there are the two choices, quality over price is what I'm looking for, I want to get the best drum mics I can get. So yeah, based on your knowledge, vote how you feel. And of course, if you have alternatives, let me know, once again I'm looking for quality, not price, so yeah, let me know.(I think that sentence was run-on..sorry) And yeah, let me know whatever. Thanks

Any other help concerning drum mics would be awesome. Thanks for the help.

Option #1. The 57s, B52s, and PZMs are all good quality mics you won't outgrow, even if you stop using a 57 on each tom, and decide to try another overhead mic, you will find many other uses for those mics. Option #2, you will be wanting to sell them in a year or two.

Option #3 would be a B52 (or D112, etc.), a Beyer M201 for snare, and a pair of PZMs or SDCs for overheads, no tom mics, no mounts.

agreeing with the last post, option #2 is pretty much a useless step.

get the better mics in option 1, or keep looking because you'll always find use for the first set, even if you are using better shit on the drums
