yeah, the drums aren't great in this, Travis. The kick is gone. But, the vox seem ok, and you got the heaviness in the guitar to stick out. Now, just fix the drums.... :D

thanks for the feeback fellas. i'll work on it a bit tonight and see if i can improve things any. i've been using all of your mix's as references. dogman, i think i took too much of the attack out of the kick but to be honest, i have no clue as to what the hell i'm doing. :D nl5, i have the master buss compressor working pretty hard. i think i need to work on the snare compression to get the level evened out and then ease up on the master compressor. i wish i could use my monitors for this but that's not an option right now so i'll keep tinkering with the phones.

one thing i had a hard time with was an occasional loud click from the bass guitar. when i solo the bass i don't hear it but with the whole mix running it sticks out pretty bad. i had to use an envelope to kill the click in a few spots. as far as the bass drum, i really have no clue. that thing sounds freaky soloed though.

Well, I did a remix. Changed the verb, and the verb levels on a couple things. Tweaked the drum and vox levels. May have abused the precision limiter a bit - new toys tend to get a bit overused. :D

Nice one man....Still reminds me a bit of Korn..... :D
Nice kick sound there. And guitars are heavy.

Nice tracks!

I done quite a mix... but for master it's too late here in europe :)

I'll send mix tomorow when I get up.

It will be Slipknotish ! :)

Tnx for listening my mix :)

Too bad there aren't more guitars layers. Sound coud be much fuller and powerful.

Does anyone know which band is this? NIce song! :D

Check this out!!!

This mix is very different then others.. I change a song a little bit and chorus has back vocals :)

I try to get this Slipknot sound ... A lot of kick and eq on toms&floors.

Listen, you won' t regret it!

hey that sounds really cool. only thing is maybe the cymbals are maybe a tiny bit too loud, and maybe a little too much bottom snare. but i like how you changed the arrangement a bit. the kick and toms come through good in this one. nice mix.

WOW! That was fun and that is a really kewl song. I love it. Here's where I am...I got the mix much hotter than this at one point but I had to peak limit the heck out of it but it pumped too much then, anyway, I scaled it back to this:

That snare and kick were real buggers to work with. The hard part was getting enough high frequencies out of the dulled sounds and shaping the low frequency responses THEN trying to get a level sound between the two.

Regardless of mix, I absolutely love this song now after hearing it 250 times..lol. :D

Cant belive i missed this post. Cant wait to mix it. Hopefully ill have something up tomarrow.

Everybody else, pretty good. I like how different they all sound.

I finally got a chance to slide over to the studio and put some work on this one. Kind of a fun song. I loved the guitars:D Anyhow, I spent about an hour, and have yet to hear it on anything but the studio monitors. The only editing on wav files was the normalization of a track or two, and a quick little fade in the two track. There is also no automation except for a couple of vocal delays (automated the send). There is a brickwall limiter (L3) on the master, but it never hits more than -1. There is however a judicious amount of buss compression to my taste in various places. I hope it sounds alright for a quick pass. I guess I will find out for myself tomorrow:)

Tnx for reply Zed. You were right about overheads. They are mabey tiny too loud. But main problem is they must be some cheap cymbals recorded on or mabey bad acustics in room...

I didn't mixed on my stuf and I heard real mix when I come in my studio ...

I mixed on some old computer (below 1gh) and computer speakers :)

just did mine. only worked on it for maybe 2 hours. using my home cputer + comp speakers with sub. Cakewalk with factory plugs (ewwww). came out a little too smooth for this genre i think. lemme know what you think.
