Doubling question

When people talk about improving vocals, it's often recommended that you copy the original vocal track and delay the 2nd track by 30ms or so.

Do they mean to literally delay the start of the 2nd track, or to apply a delay (echo) effect?

I assume it means to delay the start of the track. If so, how do you do this in n-track?

You can use a delay or a stereo delay.

You can of course also clone a track and then use the move tool to shift the second track over by a few ms, then pan to taste.

Click track,"properties"...when the window opens click "selected wave file properties" and the window will expand to enclude a box called offset. It reads like "0.00.00". I have used this to delay a cloned track for a sort of chorus effect by changing the number to "0.00.01" or ".02". If I wanted and "echo" effect though I'd just use a plugin, in fact I'm getting to where I don't use the offset anymore...just a plug to accomplish the desired effect.
