damn rats, what the hell was that? he he he he he hehe slam dancing. It grows on me. Only mix comment, I'd like the percussion to be louder. Cool sound effects.

sounds like it's a cool song, but there is way too much phasey, flanging, swirling panning, reverbed out stuff to tell what's happening.. I like the synths, but with all the vocals effect it sounds really washed out.. even the guitar is drowning..

I would strip this tune down to it's basic foundation.. cool sound effects..

Only problem is that there is no basic foundation! It just needs some EQ me thinks!

damn rats, what the hell was that?
I have no fucking idea.

I think there's a foundation. Actually, I think there's a decent song buried in the effects. Good guitars working there. Couldn't understand the words, but there's a fairly decent melody going there.

The section at 1:36 doesn't seem to support the song or add much to it.

I'd keep working on it. Might need to add a verse or bridge.

Anyway, those are my thoughts...

I really liked this...sounds like a band that was in a cave with a ton of acid since 1969. Sounds like it was a blast to mix-did you borrow devo's drummer? Really cool break down-I liked :). The singers voice is good and I like the main melody. Very interesting-I'll send my ma a link over to this :).

Hmm. I'm torn between agreeing that there actually *is* a song underneath all the effects and kind of digging the way you just tore loose and went crazy here. There's something about this I like. I guess I would like to hear what's happening a little more clearly.

Also not sure about that middle section, but again: I admire the reckless disregard for normalcy that it indicates. And that deranged motorcycle sound at the end made me laugh out loud.

Sumpin' ain't quite right about dis here "rats" fella...:)

rats

I totally dig your style; your sense of humor esp in the cave just kills me...

This song kills me too  but kills me softly  Actually, the confusing part is you should hang out in here more often and pick up some recording tips. The total Pixies/Devo-in-a-blender thing you got going is hella sweeeet; if only you could track cleaner... the mixes would mix themselves... Then you wouldn't need this magic wand "EQ" to fix everything...

cuz it can't

Sheezsh... just go visit your neighborino "crawdad" (fellow Detroit person) and pick up some tips... you'd have a buzzclip on the MTV pronto

Thanks parti.

Groucho, strat, thanks.

If you generally liked the song then all is cool. It looks like we'll be going back over this with band and making some updates. The electronic drums will be replaced by real drums. Some of the vocals in the beginning will end up being performed by the other guys. I think I'm going to redo some of the guitars and add a bassline.

Thanks for listening and replying all, your comments and suggestions are helpful!

I think my vocs are a bit strained sounding in parts but I'm not sure if it's too annoying to leave in or if I should redo them.

Leave the vox, They fit the mood perfectly!

If you can, bring the drums up a tad, or give them some boom in the EQ dept.
Cool tune!

Damn Rats, you are one inspired artist!

Joel

Thanks JC. I think the drums will sound better played on real drums.

I like it Rats.....and all the performances are fine but.....you should really consider backing off on the FX when the full band comes in. It works for the intro but as others have pointed out; it muddies things up too much when everythings going on and I would like to be able to hear things better. Pretty wild and inventive though....props for that! ;)
