This whole subject is so black and white (morally, theft IS theft regardless of the amount -- legal distinction based on 'value' is another issue), yet grey at the same time. One thing's for sure, it's not going to change any time soon. Realistically, it's going to happen, and at a minimum I personally do consider it inappropriate to ask how to crack software on a public forum, then be indifferent when someone denounce
A 'grey' question: If I buy a used computer from someone that is already loaded with all kinds of software, whether copied or cracked, am I a thief -- only if I use it???
I already know some will say yes, others no. Still others will say, uninstall all the un-paid for software, then install the bought versions. I'm sure many critics here of the software theft practice have bought used 'loaded' computers and not uninstalled/installed. Let's face it, we're all hypocrites to some degree.
