Thing that makes me feel bad for teens is the price of a decent Guitar. What teenager can afford $3000 for a Les Paul, and $2500 worth of amp? Gotta give ya props for the work hours, and grade average, Tragik. And for signing your neg feedback, even if you were being a sensitive "ass". hehe. Wish my teenage son had your addiction.

Wow, in the 80's I was writing my own software on a TI994A. There was no "Windows", no "DOS", hell, there wasn't even a harddrive! If you couldn't write basic, you couldn't do anything with a computer.
Countless were the nights I were sitting smoking and writing basic applications on a Commodore 64 ^^
Later I went throught the Amiga range of computers wich was THE multimedia platform. We laughed at the PCs morbid interface that lacked it all.
Through the Amiga I first got into sequencing. My first sequencer that I bought was a "DR. Something" - cant remember the exact name.
Btw, Atari was the real sequencing deal back then.
Looking back - wee, there has been a revolution.

N-track is one of many pieces of software that are affordable. Cubase SE, Cakewalk Home Studio, Guitar Tracks, Kristal audio engine, Audacity for that matter. Most of these offer more than the average home user will ever use.

Scooping a cracked version os Nuendo is not only stealing, it's idiotic. I always see these posts asking help to use thier cracked software. Excuse me? No. I'm not going to help you use the software you stole when I had to go and pay for mine, which came with a manual.

If you're just starting out, if you can afford a guitar, a mic, a keyboard, a mixer, you can afford an entry level software. For that matter if you are willing to invest in a decent soundcard/interface, you will get a free version of the software that is limited but useable enough to get you into the groove.

Limitations are a benefit. Yes they are. They help you work with less. They teach you to make the best of what you have. When you're ready to step it up, you'll have a good idea why. It's simple. It's affordable.

This seems like a good time to point out that Jimmy Hendryx stoled the strats he used early on. Just couldn't afford a good one.

He gave back much more than he took. Good thing he lacked morels, huh?

Oh darn! I got a bad rep because I gave my opinion on pirated software. Boo hoo. Man some of you people are real petty. It's funny that someone will suggest that rep points mean nothing and then they go and use that same thing to try and shut someone up. Well fortunately I really could care less. C'mon people gimme those bad rep points. Oooh, I'm so sad. I'm going to go cry now. Psh.

Alright! Well, let's get this ball rolling! One more bad rep. Can we get negatives here? Let's work on that.

And to all those pirates:

Should you ever get signed, may all your songs be illegally downloaded. May you never make money from you recorded material. May you gear be stolen by your neighbor. Well I suppose I could go on. I just want to give you all a reason to give me a bad rep point.

i keep getting little grey ones, i must have gotten 6...

so the point is; no matter which side you take, the red chiclets are gonna getcha!

it means that someone with zero or neg rep gave it to you.

so little punks that mean nothing gave you feedback lol.

Hmmm. Someone just mouthed off at me for asking for a bad rep point. I don't get it. I thought I was doing them a favor.

there just people who really dont do anything positive for this forum. i agree with you. let me download there music!

Hey, since we've been gabbing here, lets hear some of your stuff that has been recorded on the software you guys defend the price of.

Check out "Hopes Fading" on this link. It was done on N-track a $50 program.

http://www.nowhereradio.com/artists/album.php?aid=2878&alid=-1

The other 2 songs were recording in studios several years ago. Hopes Fading was done last year when I finally decided on N-track. I'd like to compare it to some stuff on the more expensive ( or less) proggies you guys might be using.
Maybe try to turn this thread back into a positive.

Man, what are you talking about. Your stuff is really good. What did you record that with?
