Alrite guys/gals please bear with me, i'm not sure how to word this so it makes sense but i'll try my best. I recently got the Line6 Toneport UX2 because i live in an apartment and can't exactly jam out... but the toneport works perfect for me in replicating effects so i can at least record some rough ideas. Now here's the thing: when i record my stuff, i'm fine with doing the mixing using my computer speakers. I should add that i'm only recording drone/sludge/doom stuff... and certainly nothing that i need precise editing on, i'm just doing it for myself and not to send to record labels. But here's the problem: when i am actually recording with the Toneport, the only way i can hear what i am doing is if i plug headphones into it and listen from there. But i'd like to be able to hear what i'm doing loud... and out of speakers/monitors/amp? I don't want to hear my actual playing through my computer speakers... so i'm confused on what i should use. It's almost like as if i want to use the Toneport as my amp head, and plug it somehow into my Crate cab. But i'm not sure if that can even be done, or if i'm going to need monitor speakers to plug into the Toneport just so i can hear myself loud enough, especially when recording while listening to another recorded guitar track or something. Sorry for a possibly stupid post, but hopefully someone understands what i'm trying to get at and can help me.

you need a power amp. Take the line out/unblanced out of you soundcard, to the input of the power amp. Output of the amp to you cab.

thanks alot for the reply. you don't happen to know if there's a favorite model/brand amongst the board members that i should look into do ya? the cheaper the better.

just a little bump to see if anyone can recommend me with some good models i should be looking at (lowest cost... supreme quality is not an issue).

Cheap doesn't really equate to good in a lot of cases.

If you want cheap, then buy cheap. Just make sure you match impedence and don't overpower the cab/monitors.

thanks for the reply. is there any brand/model in particular you would recommend? to be honest i'm new to all this obviously, and have never seen one of these before. the few that i did look up seemed to be alot of money... money that i don't have.

I wouldn't want to be mixing through a Crate and trying to figure out what's going on with my tracks. I'd get some nearfields.

hehe no, i'm doing the mixing thru my 5.1 computer speaker system. i guess the question i'm asking is harder to understand if you don't have the toneport. it basically replicates amps/effects/tones on the computer... but i want to be able to hear it LOUD when i record... like it were coming out my amp (which is what i'm trying to do). i was told a few posts up i need a power amp... so now i'm looking for one that will get me by, not necessarily the greatest one ever made.
