Can you guys give me any ideas on the best digital multi track recorder, in the range of $300-400. I would prefer on with an on board hard drive and a burner (not necessary but would be good.) It is mainly me recording different tracks over a few days. Sometimes a band
Please give pros and cons if possible.
Thanks

I've owned a Boss BR-8, which was one of the first stand-alone hard disk things...it writes to Zip disk. I bought a used ADAT on ebay and have never looked back. I find the sound much nicer and more detailed.

For $300-$400, you can probably get an ADAT on ebay. But you'll need separate pre-amps and a board to run it. If you have a computer, that would probably be a better route, there are all kinds of USB pre-amp things like an MBox out these days (I've heard basically none of them).

And I could be wrong, but I think that there are only 2 choices in your price range for a stand-alone, neither of them burn CD's..?
