Presonus Blue Tube.

I've also heard the ART Tube MP blows away the Great River. Mercenary is going to start selling their special edition MP for $1399 in February. I am #3 on the waiting list behind blue bear and track rat. Yay!!!

Yup. I heard it's going to be skewered on a BB-Q spit, for easier handling.

And BTW, if price is an issue, is the Fearn really 40 times better than the Audiobuddy?

"The Mercenary Special Edition Tube MP is so hot you can't touch it with your hands! Fortunately, it comes with a pair of the same rubber mitts that come with the Ronco Showtime Barbecue." -- mercenary.com

"Oh, it's a deep, deep burn...so deep. I can barely lift my right arm because I did so many." -- Ron Burgundy :D

ive been getting good results using the pres on my microwave

painful, but good. I think there may be a grounding issue, can anybody help me solve this problem. The mic seems to be carrying a charge. Heres what I usually do.

Head covered on high power for 20-30 minutes, rotating 1 quarter turn halfway thru cooking time. Let stand for 20 minutes to cool down.

The problem is, after I leave it in there, most of my mics dont work anymore. I know it isnt my cable becasue I think cables are cocky, so I plug directly in. BTW, do I really need a mic. Is there any other way?

You need to insulate it by covering it first in cheez whiz and then wrapping the whole thing in aluminum foil. Be sure to wrap it tight, though, because you don't want the phantom power to get out.

Actually, if you remove your vocal cords and place them in the microwave for 3 minutes (to warm them up), then connect them directly to your FireWire-enabled soundcard (via balanced connections, of course), you'll get a totally usable sound.

well, I dont use soundcards, they are overhyped and people who use them are just showing off because they are cocky.

by the way, I want to get a new mixer. I want the best one in the world, but would like to keep it under $100. What do you suggest?

See, I told you guys. Now get on that waiting list before they're all gone. :D :D :D

Wait'll you hear my new Martech-Behringer hybrid. You hide the chassis with the Behringer face plate, and switch out every cap, pot, and switch. I'll have MrQcue slashing his wrists.-Richie

Damn... who let the cat out of the bag... the new M-E version of the "MP" will require you to sign a release saying that you will wear lead lined protection anytime you're near the unit and that neither M-E nor the manufacturer will be held liable for any birth defects or deformaties caused by inappropriate handling of the product nor will we be responsible for sterility caused by extended exposure to the product with out the requisite precautionary measures.

This is going to be the world's first "Plutonium" [weapons grade!!] powered device in the history of audio... best part is, with the 2 RU "reactor" attachment, you'll be able to run the rest of your studio from one "M-E/MP-RPB"... and your entire block from 4, the whole neighborhood off 8, and a good sized city or town off of 16.

It's gonna be killer!!!

I tried using my Microwave as a preamp yesterday and I wasn't so succesful:( I put my U47 in there and punched in the length of the song (4:20) and hit start. For the few minbute the track was really electric. It really sparked. By the end it was really shocking how hot it was. When I took the U47 out though, the diaphragm had warped and melted and the tube was hotter than I had ever seen it. Would it have been better if I had used the shockmount?

<<and a good sized city or town off of 16>>

daaaaaaaaaaaaaaamn. what's the estimated street on this? what about without the attachment? i'm not exactly the "neighborly" kinda guy. :D

<<the world's first "Plutonium" [weapons grade!!] powered device in the history of audio>>

i heard a rumour that there's an optional "north korean" upgrade? what's the skinny on that?

cheers,
wade

Sorry, Fletch, I didn't know it was still on the D.L. :D I mean, it's such a smokin' deal that I just couldn't keep it to myself any longer.

Am I to understand you will also be releasing multiple MPs in rack-mounts with the reverse power-flux coupling? Man, I can't wait!!!

I really appreciate all the hard work you and your colleagues have done in bringing this product to market (and at such a steal, too!). :D :D :D
