I have a reconditioned 48 channel (96 inputs) D&R Octagon console for sale. New price is over $160,000.00. I'll deliver this puppy for the first $75,000.00 anywhere in the Continnental US.

Why should I buy that instead of 7,500 MG10/2's?

what is a MG10/2??

I know MG210...(microtech gefell 210) but not that...

Yall NC folks have weird terminology.

(J/K I am from NC. )

sorry for the hijack ..was curious what mg10/2 was.

Because you won't have moving faders, TONS of excellent EQ's, beautiful preamps, 24 (or maybe even 32 or 48 on the Octagon) floating busses, ultra quiet noisefloor and high headroom, impeccable specs, 12 or more aux sends, recallable automation, dynamics capabilities, 5.1 mix stem, proper control room monitoring, the hollywood effect form the desk itself, calibratable metering, nice patching and routing (and TONS of it) etc....

Those are just the first reasons it took me 30 seconds to think of why I wouldn't even want 1 Yamaha mg 10/2 instead of a D&R Octagon. :D

Sucky math. I guess it would only be 750 MG 10/2's. Wait, I could buy 2142 Behringer UB502's for that price too!

When I think home recording I definitely think 160,000 dollar console, haha. I would love to see this badboy in action though, or even in a home studio.

D&R Octagon

Thanks for the interest guys. Actually it has 96 motor faders on modules that have full 4 band parametric EQ on each, 16 aux busses, 48 multitrack routing busses, recall of every control & switch (other than the input trim) 7.1 surround mixing & monitoring, 8 VU meters, 2 high resolution LED array meters for stereo mix buss and solo, 48 high res meters for tracks or inputs (switchable peak & VU ballistics), numerous monitoring functions, and will out-spec any other analog console currently in production (SSL did have a fraction better crosstalk figure the last time we tested). If I could afford to buy it for my studio, I would in a NEW YORK minute.

Somebody out there will get a whale of a deal. Speaking of whales... she weighs in at close to 900 lbs. The price? only $75,000.00 ....... about the same as a two bedroom modest house in Texas. I take trade-ins and will finance.

900 pounds? The shipping on that thing must be close to my annual salary!

When you have one of these puppies maybe your income will go up. hehe

uhm, actually it will. That was one of the reasons i decided to go for such a deal. I estimated that if it would take my studio less than a year to pay back the flagship it would be a wise investment. I had my money back in 5 months!

It is true, big console do attract clients. I even lowered the studioprice from the moment the console got in!
