lol, too funny. Sounded great. I don't even know who creed are, but they must really suck.

Everyone...please remember...it's a rough...it's only the first mix that I've done on this song....but it's still better than anything erichenryus will every achieve in his lifetime.

i still remember your advice to me from an earlier thread on 'how the hell do you get the vocals to cut through the mix so well'. you said something like ' i squash them like a fucking grape until there is absolutely no trace of dynamic range left'.

so how do you do that without winding up with 'pumping' and 'breathing' which is what i keep winding up with? what software/hardware do you use? do you compress it in multiple passes? etc. please share. pretty please.

"Creed, you suck...."

Dude!

I really like this song!! The harmonies are really tight!!

This sound like a cross between Blink 182, Backstreet Boys, and Ben Folds Five! :D

Send this to 91X here in San Diego, and you should see some airplay!! :D

Feable Weiner

Hey darth,
the recording is really good man. Did you say you did this in a bedroom? I don't normally come in the mixing clinic that often but I was digging around and found this thread. I think I used to play in a band with the guitar player from Feable Weiner. Is one of the guys named Josh? Seems liek last i heard he was playing in a band with this name. Who knows, i guess there could be a million feable weiner's. Just curious

i really like this song, not really because of what their saying about creed, but just.. what they're doing... it's cool, they could have said a million different things, they just happened to land on creed.
musically, it's awesome, these guys know what they're doing. i would buy their album.

i like the perfect, almost mechanical sounding harmonies, the falsetto is cool.. but i think there could have been less... that sort of thing feels better (at least to me) in moderation.

darth, is this a band that you are part of, or is it a band you're recording, or what? i'd really like to hear more from them.

just a note: anyone who is calling blink182 "cookie-cutter" in the same breath as defending creed needs to open their eyes. creed is N'sync with guitars... the product of a bunch of business suits in a meeting somewhere. lit? i can see that... but not blink. blink has gone out of their way to break away from the mainstream...
i'm sure creed is a bunch of good guys with good intentions... and i even like some of their songs... but let's face it... they are the new millennium's equivalent to winger. without MTVand teenbeat magazine they would've dried up and died after their second album.

No, that's "Linkin 'Log Packin' Park" ;)

Anyway, my original intent was to point out how ironic it was that a song that sounded so much like Blink182/Lit/Sum41 could say that Creed was a Pearl Jam ripoff :)

That snare was just plain awesome! What kind was it? How many mics (top and bottom?) What kind of overheads? What kind of Pre's?
Obviously you have a drummer that knows how to hit! Hang on to that guy, they're rare!
The guitars worked like they should for this kind of song, I'm guessing Marshall amps. Correct me if I'm wrong.
Cool bass tone too, btw. Worked very nice.

Lyrically, you hit the nail right on the head. Creed is about as exciting as watching grass grow. I think I'd rather pull my fingernails out one by one than listen to an entire Creed record.
