Jamal...what part are you talking about...the falsetto...I don't think there is any falsetto in this song.

There is, however, massive compression on many things (as always with my tracks!)

What's the time of the track that you're referring to?

yeah.. there's a buttload of falsetto in this thing

0:20-0:35, the note at 0:50, et al.

But hey.. I like falsetto, so I'm not complainin' :p

Downloaded it, started the song and it's on repeat for like the seventh time now and I'm not bored of it yet. Sounds great. Very catchy.
 
yeah i think it fit the song well....hell, every part fit the song well......Darth, when i go to Nashville, u should hook me up with a few engineering lessons......

i thought the whole beginning of this was sung in falsetto???..u cannot tell me that its not??!?!?..lol...noway?.....why am i asking this?...i KNOW it is......it sounds killer i just wondered how you recorded it?...i had heard that you can make falsetto sound great with compression or something...ala...axl rose.....

firstly, Awesome song Darth mate....

Do you think its possible to be "over-compressed"??? for example the final vocal harmony - sounds like its a machine singing it! i mean it still sounds awesome and the harmonies are perfect but humans voices usually arent.

Anyway im sure you've already thought this through and your method obviously works........

Also at risk of starting the creed thing again - I used to like them like 2 years ago and they did have some good songs, unfortunately they get very repetitive and the songs start sounding very similar. Also the structure of each song is pretty much the same..... always ends with him repeating the title (or close to it) over and over.

eg. What if, What if, What if, What if I...........
or My own Prison, MY Own Prison..........
anyway you get the point (maybe the ones who are still fans wont.....)

And finally - i cant stand how in the film clips scott like sings to the camera like hes in a boy band!! with the whole fists clenched and eyes closed and ........arghhhhh... have to turn it off.

on the contrary, darth, (and feable weiner) i am listening to this song heaps and i love it!@!

if you don't think there is falsetto in this, you don't know what falsetto is :)

the entire intro is falsetto (as it should be), as well as a ton of the harmonies throughout the song.

Ok, just because I'm damn curious and I'm looking for a DAW.. was this thing tracked with your 2480? also was this mix done with it as well? I'm totally ready to get one but I need some feedback from people who ACTUALLY use it.. I want to use the preamps on it at least for a little while.. what are your thoughts Darth?

i've hated them from the start anyone who likes them has no idea about music from the heart and soul,Musically they are marginal,lyrically they write the same song over and over and the drummer is like a photocopier i will never be able to bash them enough.Cheezy music for the masses of sheep who crave the same 10 songs over and again,alas i cannot go on it feel like the same weary argument i have with my wife. Shit!! can't get the song,cannot make connection with server,can someone please e-mail me it,pleeeeez itprod@optonline.net abd agian this thread was fuckin hillarious,can't wait to hear the song

I loved this song and I am a Creed fan, though a closeted one. I am flabbergasted by the people who take themselves too seriously and can't enjoy the song because they feel like they need to defend a super group. Can't you guys take a joke? Ever hear Nerf Herder's song about Van Halen? As far as I know it got more radio play than any other song of theirs (as if that's the only reason people write songs anyway) The lyrics aren't even what makes this song so great (though I laughed out loud at the Pearl Jam rip-off reference) The melody, the energy, emotion were brilliantly captured. The harmonies, guitars and drums were also recorded really well. I am thoroughly impressed.

I don't care if someone posts a song on how happy they were the day John Lennon died. If the song was recorded well I will tell them so. I would reserve my judgements on the lyrics as more of a side note rather than discounting the whole song because of them.

Darth did you do all of this on your 2480 or do you just track on it and then do eq, compression, editing etc. on a computer? Thanks for sharing some drum secrets could you tell us how you tracked the vox and the guits?

HOLY SHIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!I Finally heard the song it's 3am and I'm wakin my wife up again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!This is brilliant...one thing to say... endless loop tomorrow for her to wallow in.this tune really kicks ass,if you don't mind I'll be sending it to everyone i know
