She lives in the SW part of town...I don't know my way around KC enough except that I can follow the map to her house. ;) She grew up outside Lawrence KS & me in Leavenworth. Last time up my wife & I joined her & 2 brothers & their 3 kids at one of the lakes on the Kansas side for an afternoon of fishing. That was before I retired and my wife nearly had to pull a gun on me to come back home!

I have other cousins up around St Joe, too. (If you're wondering where I am now, it's 600 Miles almost straight South from your area. No snow!)

That Clipper sure is nice. Something about a big guitar that allows you to feel some vibration through the soundbox is magic. How's the action?

Speaking of KC, a few years ago, there used to be a nice little restaurant/night club up town that featured jazz players. Is it still there? We had lunch there many times passing through and it was an attractive little place with good atmosphere to play in.

I had it setup for flatwound 12's, not too low. The neck is solid as a rock. I play mostly rhythm, so it's great for chords and some rockabilly/Beatles leads. I'm especially impressed with the range on the tone and volume. I get alot of colors just moving them around. For right now, I think a tuneomatic bridge is in my future. The ebony is just a tad too mellow.

I think you're talking about the Phoenix Bar and Grill. It's going strong, and it's still the best place to hear Jazz in KC.
