So I am in a Pawn shop today looking at what they have.

A cheap looking guitar with good looking TAYLOR logo on the headstock. The Headstock does not even have the same shape as a real Tayor. I look inside because I have seen guitars with a Brand name painted on the headstock before. What do I see? A very nice looking Oval sticker with a big crimson red Taylor LOGO. Serial number and all. It was a 710;) Only this one wasn't rosewood. It was that cheap looking one piece Mohagany that probably isn't even Mohagany. Redish in color, you know? Get this though. Its $1300.

Maybe it comes with a REALLY nice case...............

I don't want to sound mean, but anyone who would buy that and not know the difference has way more money than brains, somehow I never did have much sympathy for that group...I guess because I consider myself to be the exact opposite. :D
Not that I am defending the cold-hearted bas-turd that would cheat some witless num-nutz trying to spend his way thru an inheritance.

The thing is....this PawnShop puts a lot of stuff on Ebay. I wouldn't by a guitar without seeing at least a picture first, but if they put it up and claim its in mint contition AS IS for say the unbelievable low price of $900............a mint Taylor 710? Thats a good deal. And its from a company, not an individual.......so there is a believability factor. Granted I wouldn't trust anything a sleezy pawnbroker says, someone might get suckered in.

Yes, although sometimes life's best lessons are learned the hard way, and worth every penny.
I can relax now, I have reached my deep thoughts quota for the year.

If I wound up with that from an Ebay auction advertising a Taylor 710 the pawnie would be wearing it in his ass courtesy yours truely.

I've bought many things off Ebay, and I have never, EVER, been happy with a transaction from a pawn shop. I got a "new" digital camera that was totally beat to crap - had to return it. Got a Roland synth that was "mint", but an entire octave of keys didn't work - had to return it. I don't think there is any other type of seller that so consistantly misrepresents their goods (either intentionally or unwittingly) as a pawn shop. They are always a total hassle, and almost never worth the effort in my experience.

i've had good luck buying guitars in pawn shops around military bases, but i've always played them first.
